Got through my second bournout and prone to depression. The birth of my son six months ago was the best day of my life, and yet my will to live is not strong today. Luckily there are people like you, Mr. Fletcher, who give me a little courage with your art. Godd bless you.

Around 11:00 - Kirk says it all. It'a a reason why Jazz started losing audience. Players started focusing less on accessible melody and more on shredding and trying to impress other musicians. Tell a story with your playing, besides "Look how great I am!"

You my friend are a national treasure, your disposition and attitude towards music crosses over to life in general, keep it simple, don’t over complicate stuff. Thanks Kirk, greetings from Japan.

At 64 fighting off neuropathy and depression its refreshing to find someone who takes more time and slows down for me so thank you. I've played gospel music my whole life and finally made it to a nashville stage then my dream came true so I said goodbye and went home to raise my babies thank you for your time and I think you naturally have patience

"...like a singer would think...." This is one of the hardest lessons to learn. We all want to play fast and flashy, but that's not how to move people.

This is like being at a guitar class on a hill on a breezy summer but shady morning called coffee and guitar with kirk...yes if you're playing you want the listener to feel some way. This is one way to make them feel like they're enjoying their favorite dessert

Great advice! Some of my friends are surprised that I'm able to sit in on gigs where I barely know the material, but this is how I do it. I focus on the vocal melody and playing small parts that fill the gaps

i love this man. He is honest and it comes through in his music. I think he and Zac Childs are brothers from a different mother, they both share that relaxed way of talking and playing. Love your music Kirk.

Mr Fletcher, please don't take this question wrong, EVERY single thing you share is priceless and I'm soaking it up, love these!! Can you share some of your gospel knowledge, like chord progressions used in gospel and how to compliment a song with skills like you have?! Haha, but really, when you play that stuff, it has SO MUCH FEEL, I'd love to be able to do that someday! Anyway, thanks no matter what, you're awesomeness is off the charts!

The opposite of simple elegance would be shredding.. 50notes per second without inspiring any emotional response. The older I get the more I realize it’s actually harder to play less notes and play the right ones
