I know this is a very late comment, but I like your mention that the song has a carnival feel. I've felt that since I heard it when it came out! It always brings back poignant memories. RIP Ric Otcasek.

Hey Mark, as always, love your stuff. I thank you for this solo. The part you said you got pretty close though, sounded a little off to me. I then looked up every tab and found them to also be off from what he was doing. So I listened and then I watched the live video of him to see where he is playing it and I think I got it down. It the riff that starts on the 8th fret/1st string and ends with the G F# F decending before the Chuck Berry riff. Here is what I got and I will put it in form like 8th fret first string with look like 8/1. Sorry for the odd positions but this is how he plays it on the live video. OK so here goes..... (7th Postion) 8/1 7/1 8/1 7/1 (8th Position) 10/2 8/2 10/3 (9th Position) 10/3 9/3 10/3 9/3 12/4 10/4 9/4 10/4 9/4 10/4 9/4 10/5 9/5 8/5 then proceed to third fret position for the chuck berry. The main thing is the section you are playing 4 3 43 on the third string is flat. If you like it your way, you could make the 5 4 54 C to B not B to Bb. Just an observation. Anyway Be well, Again thank you for posting.

Hey Dave. I know he plays it in one video (I think it was on the show Friday's) in the 8th position. I found it easier in the lower position ... and frankly, I pulled it from the album. I'll re-check the notes on the chromatic lick next time I'm near a guitar. Thanks!

Hi Johnny. I don't know how to attach a file in KZbin, so if you send me your email address (send it to my Google+ or KZbin account so it's not public) and I'll send it via regular email. If you know how I can avoid this, please let me know!! :)

Mark, thanks, I'm currently working on this one, I'm wondering, did you work out the very last solo (short), before the end? Do you have it tabbed?
@MarkZabel3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don't have the tab for it.
