Thank you so, so, so much! You are the reason that I am still practicing! It took me two weeks with Episode 3 to feel comfortable to move on ( I can be a perfectionist) but it was so worth it. I love how you have the song medleys at the end. The set up of the music and having you sing while we play has been so helpful! Please make more of these beginner videos!!! And maybe some "campfire" songs videos too? I am so grateful for you. You are a wonderful teacher and generous to have your lessons so accessible!

I've been playing almost every day using other youtube teachers for about a month and have been struggling. Then suddenly your videos came into my feed. In one day, literally, I am able to play soooo much better. I can play chords I couldn't play before, and I can strum and change chords. Your techniques are what changed things for me. Thank you! Much success to you and your channel.

So glad to hear these have been helpful to you! 🙌 Strumming patterns can be a difficult concept to get down. Many people understand the counting but have trouble translating that to the actual up and down strums. 🙈 But just take it slowly and keep practicing consistently and soon it'll click for you and become easy! 🎸🎶 Best of luck, and thanks so much for watching and learning with me! 🤗💕

Yes! I needed this. For me who is completely new to guitar, it is the strumming patterns that always make it difficult. If I practice, I could learn the chords and get used to chord shifts, but not the strumming patterns. I always get stuck at the detailed strumming patterns when I'm trying to learn the whole song. It makes me overwhelmed... This really is useful and I am very looking forward to episode 5 too! Thank you so much!!

It's taken me almost 6 months now to get to this video, but this is hands down the BEST guitar tutorial I've ever had! I don't care what people say, what entitled guitarist have to chime in with. This breaks down guitar in a way I can understand. I am now playing G, C, D, E, A no problem, I can transition them with my eyes closed, I'm very impressed with these lessons. I kind of take each lesson in my own stride. I stuck to ur first lesson for almost a month, until I could play all those chords no problem! I honestly don't think ur going to find a better way to learn from scratch on KZbin! I've come across a lot of "professionals" and my friends have pointed me in directions that all go WAY over my head. I think some people assume I should know how to read and hear music before I pick up a guitar, but with these tutorials; I had no clue how to do either- and now, I can tell when my guitar is out of tune, when I'm muting a string or not applying the right pressure, my fingers don't hurt anymore, my hand doesn't cramp (I thought I couldn't play guitar because maybe I had some kind of cramp problem. Nope, just not use to it!). I truly do mean this from the bottom of my heart! THANK YOU FOR THESE VIDEOS! You took a father who was hesitant to learn guitar because I was too old for it now, too, helping me become someone who enjoys guitar and everything that comes with it and now an eager learner trying to learn things I told myself I'd never attempt cuz it was way above me!

I’m back for more! My instructor moved me into strumming, after drinking from a fire hose, learning chords and chord progression etc. It is always a delight to take a break, and pick up on one of your videos. Having an instructor to guide me weekly, helps to keep me focused and regimented. Like anything else, too much repetition can make you chase squirrels after a while. Your videos really help, and this one was great as I could pause & rewind, get it almost right until I finally felt comfortable with the task. I get frustrated easily, so this is a bonus! I bought my guitar like 6 months ago and went straight to learning a couple of Rock/Metal songs (my fav genre) using power chords, and im like "this is easy, i can play a whole Metallica song by using 2 finger power chords"... until i had to start using actual chords, then im like "Oh no, why didnt i start with the basics, and learned actual chords". A couple days ago i found your channel and here i am, completed episode 4 and it feels so good to be able to actually play real chords and being able to transition between them. And also my strumming has improved too! Im learning on electric guitar as i dont have an acoustic (yet). I'm now going to tackle the much feared C chord and after some bar chords. Thanks for your videos you really do an excellent job, from the way you teach to the structure of the videos, great work! And even if im a Metalhead, im excited to play along all these pop/ballad songs that you have on your channel! Cant wait for video number 5. Thank you!

It’s took me months to get to lesson 4 😅😂 I bought a metronome.. I skip lesson 3 until the practice which I enjoy the most as it feels like I can play.. I haven’t learnt how to read the patterns yet, as I need them facing the other way for some reason? But I return to lesson 2 a lot.. I have just learnt to relax my arm strumming down 😇 I didn’t realise how tense I was until your guitar lesson’s.. which led me to start meditating more & practice a relaxed breathing pattern.. This all led me to ‘let go’ and relax! Which in turn changed my life.. it hugely impacted in everything I do, even simple tasks of everyday things like washing up, I realised I was always rushing & stressing about everything! I learnt to count everything out.. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 😂 I do this walking up the stair’s.. cleaning.. even when people are talking to me in my mind I am counting 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 🤣 it helps me stay mindful & calm 🙏 You are helping me in so many way’s I had to share with you & Thank you 💫 My strumming down has immensely improved, my strumming up is hit n miss 🤪 I need to use my plectrum! But I play at all the early hours in the morning so I am quiet 🤫 It’s hard to strum up with a sausage thumb 👍 haha! I’m going to try playing outside by the river with a plectrum 🌱 Thank you again for the life changer! You’re energy is so beautiful n balanced, I can’t wait to advance to the next video but until I master the up strum & learn to read the chords I’ll stay between lesson 3/4 and flip back to 2! 😇 1 and 2 and 3 and 4.. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 - 😉

Finally a beginner series that addresses the components of strumming! Didn’t know silent strumming was a thing until now. Other tutorials would tell the strumming pattern(DDUDU etc), but visually it looked like the teacher was strumming both down and up when that wasn’t the stated pattern. This has been hugely helpful. It’s the most challenging lesson so far, but I suspect will get easier with some practice. Emphasis on practicing chord transitions with each new skill has been a great way to build on old techniques

I'm so glad you've been enjoying this series! 🥰 Just to be clear, I call these "silent strums" but though the technique is true across playing rhythm guitar, other guitarists might not call them that or even named them before. 🙈 I just needed a way to explain the concept. 👍 This episode is definitely a little more difficult but I made a Practice With Me strumming video to help! 💪 kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5O2imSGm8etY80 I'm very grateful for you taking the time to leave a comment and let me know it's been helping you, and thank you so much for watching and learning guitar with me! 💕

You've been a great help in JUST 3 DAYS. I have even started using finger nails on the same chords and it really made a tune. I couldn't believe my self. KUDOs!

That's so awesome!! 🙌 It's amazing how much you can do with just 4 chords and one strumming pattern, right?? 😱 Congrats on seeing progress and I hope to see you in the other episodes as well! 🥰

@@for3v3rfaithful It really does. I've been trying to play guitar for years and gave up but I gained the courage to try again then found your tutorials. Can't wait for more. I tried your Someone you loved tutorial and I love it also! The only problem I have is probably how I press the chords sometimes not giving me the correct sound :D

when your strumming do you also have to start at a specific string, for example, for "Em" do you start at to strum at the 5 string or just strum all of the strings. :)
@kemarlapommells65673 жыл бұрын
for Em you strum all 6. Yes. Some strings all start and different areas. Like Dsus4 you start strumming at the 4th string. I'm a beginner guitarist and all i have learnt comes from ellen so my info is reliable :)
