I recently got a Danelectro Fifty Niner gold top semi hollow DC and I absolutely love it! I had never paid the brand much attention before I played one in a music store while on vacation and it just felt great. Very unique sound and the pickups are very quiet despite being single coil.

Sweet! I have a mid 90s reissue of one of these, in the blue/cream colour. Got it for $50cad a few months ago at a thrift shop. Out of all my guitars this is the one I play most often. The pickups sound great, and the holow/plastic body give it this cool sort of reverb echo tone.

Yaeh I have a silver sparkle, late 90's, Korean U3 that is turning greenish! Tone from heaven ! ! !

Yeah...Those 90's Korean reissues are great, I have the 59-DC in Limo Black, the 56-U1 in a light blue finish and the U2 in red... They sure sound different than my Fenders and Gibsons...

I think they started making the reissues in 1998. I have one in Copper burst, possibly the worst colour! I got it from a local auction for £149 so quite a bit more than yours, but it was in almost as new condition with the plastic film still on the pickguard. I really like the hollow body as it's very resonant and lightweight. It sounds like nothing else too.

Got this exact same guitar in that salmon color. Its a 1999 and I have had it for years now. The neck fits me perfectly and it is a riot to play.

I picked up one of these when they were first reissued in the '90s. The neck is small but the fretwork is decent. The guitar weighs almost nothing. It has a very unique sound, kind of a cheap chic thing. These are killer for slide.

At one time I had a late 50's or early 60's Batwing^* tuxedo, with lipsticks pickups... like you say very excellent neck depending on what a player may be looking for... also very light and easy on the back of your prefer standing up while playing... ; ) keep up the good work...

It's almost hard to take that thing seriously when you see the color and the shiny finish...it kinda looks like a toy. But, when Lemmo plugged that baby in and started ripping it up, TOTALLY BITCHIN'! Sounds great!

Bought a new Silvertone in black sparkle off the bargain rack at a local music store for $250. The thing is great! Two lipstick pickups, a great neck with a surprisingly good set up and intonation. Used it at a gig a few days later. Only downside was that the pickup had rather low output. Great starter guitar and one for those gigs where a Les Paul or Strat is just too much. On another trip to the shop, the store had two others that remained marked down further to $200!

i use to have the same one.. same 'cool copper' color.. (that's what they named it) sold it in like 05' ...for 250.. same thing i paid for it.. i had like 6 Danos at one time.. now i just have the 59-DC

These 21st century Danelectros are even better than the 1950s and ‘60s ones. I have a 2000 purple sparkle DC 12-string that feels and sounds great. Better than a Rickenbacker in my opinion. Of course, Lemmo makes that U2 sound killer. Shakin’ All Over!

I can did this ! Friend years had an Amp in case DE. Me, hit this with the MXR Distortion Plus,,,,He turned me onto the RR pedal in. like '81. nope He was probably right.
