Nice video, I’m a bass player that uses the mpc one! If you run out of effects slots, max 4 per track, you can send that audio track to a submix (instead of “output 1&2”) and have 4 more effects slots available in the sub mix menu

Going to try this. Will see if I can double the guitar track, pan one left and the other right, then apply different effects to each side. That would make for some interesting sounds. I can’t remember if the effects themselves, can be panned left and right, or if they always go to center/stereo. Once again, you inspire new discovery, with your KZbin videos. Best wishes for your continued success, and have a wonderful day :-)

Hello Mr. Steinberg! My MPC Live II became my go to recording device exactly for the purpose you showed. This amazing device can completely change its meaning in s of someone who does something else than hip-hop, etc. finger drumming ( no offence meant … ). I also discovered that eight audio tracks capacity can be expanded nearly without limits by means of using the MPC looper - assigning the audio to a pad and triggering a recorded audio in midi section. I also found out a perfect MPC audio recording feature - when it’s necessary to re-record a part of your audio track/ punch in/, you don’t have to wait til the playhead reaches the point you need (which annoys me with all standard loopers ).

No one took offense to that my man Akai out did them selves with this line up of mpc's.It's sad when people have to kind of dig to find something wrong with a unit.These things are damn near perfect.

Good job! Makes me curious why guitarists/bassists wouldn’t use external effects, rather than the internal MPC guitar presets (like fractal/boss/keeper) into the MPC. I’d have to assume it’d be ok if you manage your levels properly. Is there anything you’d imagine to be wrong with that, anyone?
@mr_floydst9 ай бұрын
I'm using my pedalboard all the time, but be cautious - I think I remember some people said they fried their A/D circuit. (But perhaps I'm confusing this with people who accidentally pushed the power supply into the network plug on a dark stage). More feedback by other viewers is needed :)

I am a guitarist, don't play so much anymore but did try it in the Force with one of my les pauls. My conclusion was I needed put a proper amp in front of it, so never made a video. I am more into metal though.

The world needs more metal and synth crossovers, though. ;-) If you have the time and resources for such a video, please create it! When I rewatched my own video I really wanted to scrap it but making it took a good chunk of my weekend... Would really be nice to see someone who can play and knows how to dial in a proper tone. Especially in metal.

The honest nature of your video is perfectly fine by us and really you have helped peak some interest in the possibilities within this device. I have largely ignored MPC’s and seeing as how Native Instruments finally made a stand alone competitor I was thinking about going this route but still on the back burner; this raises the question of which could I gel with best workflow wise, both are amazing modern production tools that do the computing for us hardware folks. Yes a laptop can do all of this and more but it just doesn’t feel immediate.

Great video. Do you get any latency when using an external guitar going through the insert effects?
@mr_floydst2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I found no latency to speak of, unless you use 100% reverb und 0% dry (but that's not really latency).
@sammadden55402 жыл бұрын
Not to be that guy but there will be some. I don't have a MPC but all digital effects have an A/D and D/A and will require some time to transfer, below 4ms is fine but I do find anymore will be noticed by people who play everyday (jazzers for example). For example I can't use the poly beebo live because the latency is to much, you lose the feel of it
@mr_floydst2 жыл бұрын
@@sammadden5540 Yes, you are right, there certainly will be latency (as the MPC is running in Linux, so it has to deal with the overhead of the operating system). It's just that there is no notable delay between pulling a string and hearing the processed sound on your headphone. That being said (as pointed out in the disclaimer) I'm not the ideal person to judge this. ;-)

Is this a hint that you're about to drop a nu-metal album? Because I can kinda get behind that. By the way, if you do need a preamp for your guitar, there are some pretty decent amp sims and effects in (what else) the Zoom r24.

I am trying hard to convince myself I don't need an MPC One (but just want it) .. are there any amp simulator plugins on the MPC One? I think you could get a decent signal from a regular guitar through the mic input .. would be interesting to see how that works.

Got to say the distrotion sounds nasty AF - really Akai should have done a better job here; I find ok for adding a bit of dirt to synth and organs etc... but guitar is smelly. So, I have a headrush MX5 in the mail. Basically I'll be able to get my tone just right and record without adding mpc effects, except perhaps adding a little 'glue' compression and reverb. I also fancy that the MX5 will double as a rather nice external fx unit to put in the send return loop to add some spice to other sounds too. Much as it would be nice to do everything in the box on the mpc, I think a few extras are needed to make it shine.
@mr_floydst Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching - agreed, most of the effects are so-so. (Some of the new synth plugins do have some nice reverbs, hope they release those standalone). The new delay is interesting, too.
