Great video. Thanks. I'm a guitarist and just starting with the MPC one. One thing I'd like to understand is what happens if you want to let your chord ring past the end of the drum loop ( like at the end of a particular section, going into another and letting your chord ring onto the next bar of the next section or at the end of the song for example)?

Perfect video. Your channel has been a real lifeline as jumped in and didn't really know what i was doing. Quick question. I've got an SD card plugged in the front with loops on it. I've imported my sample via "browse", edited my track to "drums" However "browse samples" is not clickable. so i can't select it, duplicate it. Any ideas? Many thanks for all the support

Matthew does the mpc one have a lot of realistic sounding acoustic drum kits available? That's what I'm looking for. For finger drumming. I'm pretty new to drum machines. I'm pretty sure I want a stand alone machine.

Hi, Matthew! Awesome videos! My question is a bit off topic. Sorry! I wasn’t sure where else to ask. Anyway, have you attempted to import Standard MIDI Files into the MPC One? Can it be done? I’m thinking about getting a “One” or a “Live 2” and wanted to be sure it could be done. Thank you, in advance, for your knowledge! Taggart

Thanks for the video ! I do find audio tracks a bit of pain in global project though. You can’t use track mute for instance, which doesn’t make sense to me. Don’t you find the looper better for recording guitars ?
@MatthewStratton3 жыл бұрын
I find it easy enough to simply remove audio from a track if I don't want it in a sequence. But, it is easy enough to add the recorded audio to a clip program and use that if I want to use track mutes. I pretty much don't use the looper, because you can't record your loops separately and mute just one of them if you want. I sometimes use punch in and out to record guitar into audio tracks when I just want to have some fun and keep jamming and keep the music going.

@@MatthewStratton "add the recorded track to a clip program", man, I hadn't thought about that ! Will try asap ! Thanks for everything you do and for sharing your knowledge !

Appreciate this video! You know you can rename a track by pressing the button above the pencil button, right? I noticed that you press the pencil button and then the title, which adds a couple of unnecessary steps. 😊
@MatthewStratton3 жыл бұрын
Well aware...I just do everything from the one window so when I am in a flow I don't have to think about which button to push if I want to use the edit tools, or if I want to rename. It is preference, because taking the extra couple seconds to think about it adds steps(time) too. Thanks for the comment!
@MatthewStratton3 жыл бұрын
I developed the habit of doing it probably about 4 years ago. I might try to use the A button to rename again, now that you mentioned it, as it does take out 2 steps. I just remember when I was first learning how to use MPC wasting time wondering why Akai made it where you can rename in 2 places. There are a lot of redundant applications that are built into the MPC.
@sinewaymusic3 жыл бұрын
@@MatthewStratton Yeah, the UI is in need of a cleanup for sure and it's unnecessary to have several paths to the same settings. I wonder when Akai will prioritize that type of usability and workflow improvements over adding features, but personally I'd much rather have a new FM synth engine than a faster workflow so I'm torn myself. 😊

Just newbie here My new MPC one is not displaying all the bass notes I need to complete my bass track. for example key of A Major has no A# displayed. What am I doing wrong? Your channel is an awesome info source. Thank you.
@MatthewStratton3 жыл бұрын
You mean pad perform isn't showing A# when you are in the key of A Major? You need to change the settings of pad perform to chromatic to show the notes that are not in the scale you selected.

Hi what’s the largest sd card you can use in Mac one
5:34 in, you still haven’t recorded any guitar. Tell me what fast means where you live in the next video.
@MatthewStratton2 жыл бұрын
The idea is to learn how to set up the session. Once you learn how to setup the session you can either save it or setup it up quickly after you learn how to do it. I could have skipped everything and just recorded the guitar, and been done in 1 minute, but you would have no idea how to set up the audio tracks. If you think 5:34 is a long time to learn something, I would hate to see your patience in a collage class. Have a blessed day.
