Great! Your version is so much cheaper than the Paul Gardner version. His special game is just extremely expensive, in contrast to a Svengal game. Thank you for your incredibly good videos and your creativity. Warm greetings from Lucerne in Switzerland André

A good trick feels good even if you know all the secrets and this is one example of that. It was much simpler than it looked like, but I didn't feel cheated.

I think Paul Gardners ride was not as rough and smooth as you think. But even when if it was he would've still gotten to the show because it was his destiny to get there.

I don't think it was his destiny and I don't think he had a rough and smooth bus ride. I think he used his own magical way of travel.

I think you nailed how the pick was forced, and the indexed pens. But, I don't think it was any known gimmick deck. I am not a magician in any sense of the word so I am basing this on pure logic and common sense; Paul Gertner is a professional, and it was his 4th time on the show, he knew P&T would be watching very very carefully, I just can't imagine him coming up there with an easily recognizable (or known) gimmick deck of cards by another pro magician. That would have been too easy to catch and too cheap for a guy who had 52 different pens printed for him and found a way to index them in his pockets so that he could pull the correct one in a split second without hesitation. It has to be a some deck of his own creation.

Superb!!! Just two questions though please? 1. With your envelopes how do you select the correct numbered envelope without looking? I could see that getting BERY difficult if someone said a high number - in fact anything after about ten would become increasingly difficult if you can’t actually look to make your selection. 2. I’m very familiar with Svengali decks but the ‘Reverse Svengali’ is a new one on me. What is it exactly? Loved your little ‘Pennesque’ story. I got the gist of it, well roughly anyway. Nice one guru! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

On the video I had all in lap, but if I did a performance I'd be wearing a jacket and I have 13 envelopes in each pocket. I doesn't take too long to fumble thru to the correct one. As for Reverse Svengali. It simple works the opposite way. Normal svengali, if you flick the cards with the deck faces towards audience normal cards seen, but with reverse one it would show all alike, and vice versa. Hope that helps.

It seems like itd be tough to locate the right envelope in your pocket without taking too long where it seemed fishy... do you keep 26 in one pocket and 26 in the other to speed that up?

Very nice ! How do you do to shuffle a Svengali deck as you did ?
@totallymagic
@totallymagic 4 жыл бұрын
Just a normal overhand shuffle but bend the pack slightly by pushing pressure on the back with forefinger. Let the cards drop in to your hand rather than pull them off as you would in a normal shuffle. The cards will drop in pairs. Hope that helps.

Yes this is the only way the trick could have been done, but I don't understand 2 things, firstly as we know he is using a rought and smooth deck or the mirage deck, but at the end he said u could examine the cards how? Then also he asked penn to change if he liked and he didn't, what if Penn changed the number m

What type of envelope index do you utilize?
@totallymagic

I just have them separated into four pockets (not on the video as I wasn't wearing a jacket), 13 envelopes in each. A quick fumble through to pull out correct one.

How can you hide 52 pens on one's person, and how did he reach so effortlessly for the pen without any noticeable fumbling around or "counting" positions?
