Im a bassist and never learned how to read the bass clef sheet music. I know how to read and write out tabs though. What i use gp8 for is writing out exercises in tab then taking it away to see the sheet music. I then play it back and follow along with the backing track.

I am using the progressive Speed Section in the Speed Setting From 40% to 100% Sep 2% Repeat 1 x. I hit play (Space Bar) and play through the song. It loop and increases speed and i get to 80%, then the dog wants out. I hit Space bar to pause. When I come back and hit Space Bar it stars back at 40%, not at 80%. Is there a way to pause the loop without starting over?

I play 12 string, and sometimes I pluck just an upper octave of a bass pair of strings with my rh thumb, to be used as part of a tune's melody. How can I get this note to show properly on the musical notation? For example, if I just play the upper octave of the 6th string E, I want the musical notation to see the E note that bisects the lowest line of the staff notation, not the E note with three ledger lines below the staff. Hi Brad, I need your help. I’m new to Guitar Pro 8. I am trying to make only Lead Sheets for my students. I need to write in the lyrics and plug in guitar charts. I purchased Guitar Pro 8 about a year ago, it came to me highly recommended. However, I am not a completely literate computer guy. Everything that I find is teaching me how to download music and GP translates it. I need to know how to manually enter music. I have tried several things and some work once or twice but other methods do not work. I have one simple song that is 25 beats and 1 measure. Cannot get the vertical lines to insert. I have times when i go to insert a note, such as a half note, and GP inserts a rest. No known reason. I don't use downloads, don't want to. And GP has no tutorials. And you cannot order the user manual, only down load a copy that is over 325 pages and difficult to go from Contents to a section, back up to find other content, get down to another set of information. And please, don''t tell me to just restart my computer....
