Here we love music, in fact in 1983 Van Halen came, also great bands have come here such as Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Guns and roses, Aerosmith, Roger Waters, etc ..., of course, in Argentina and Brazil, our close neighbors, there are more audiences. As long as your lap top runs on MacOs 10 or Windows 10, you have enough RAM available and enough space on your hard drive it will certainly work. One time Bias FX 2 Lite Edition was at free giveaway and I got one. It has not too many content in this edition, but almost everything I need so far. Fender, Marshall, Two Rock amps, Tubescreamer,. Recerb, Delay, Boosters. This is enough for any sounds I like. Maybe you could get this edition as well. Out of all software I tried, and I tried quite a bit, Bias FX 2 is the liveliest of it all. You also can look at Cakewalk by BandLab which had quite good amps and pedals in there (even though the daw is really bad). ToneLib-GFX, which is not free, but cheap. And I heard some Amplitube versions were free, but I did not quite get it to work. Or, as another option you can go to vst4free.com, get you own chain of amp, pedals, cab, reverb, etc., put it in vst host or daw and play! But that is not as smooth experience as all in one software and latency won't be so good. But I really suggest Bias FX 2, even standard version, it is worth it. It is really pleasingly, lively sounding and makes you want to play more and more like none of the software I mentioned above!

I consider GR6 as a modernization of GR5 as opposed to a major update. Yes, they did work with the modeling to provide a more authentic sound (inasmuch as a modeler can be authentic). They also provided a major overhaul of the GUI which makes it easier to navigate. However, many of the presets are the same (though there are new ones). Most people who have GR5 are also likely to also have Komplete which means that RammFire was already included. I'm happy about the new amps and the interface and will probably upgrade to GR6 - However, I will definitely wait till the Black Friday sale to see if I can get Komplete at a discount. For me, buying just GR6 outside of Komplete would not make good financial sense since I own both.

I hate the new GUI. Also no longer works with the Rig Kontroller. Not being able to create preset groups is also a ridiculous downgrade in functionality. Seems like they revamped it to only be useful for studio recording as opposed to live performances. Was very disappointed.

Let's talk about what those softwares can't do, at the contrary of a small 5W valve amp (for example). Try to plug any guitar your want, for example a Gibson Jr Double cut away with only one P90 dog ears, or any single coil, single pickup guitar. And even in your demo, i would have been interested to see you playing bridge pickup on a distorted sound Van 51 patch, and slowly turn the volume down step by step. In an valve amp, on disto channel, if you use guitar volume, from 1 to 10, you'll have a clean sound then little crunch, then overdriven sound, then distorted sound. One pickup, one volume button, one valve amp, no effects..... and you go from clean to distortion. NOW... Plug in Guitar rig, BIAS FX, Scuffhamm S-Gear, and all those kind of softwares... Make the sound you like on a distortion config. And then move the volume step by step from 10 to 1. It's a disappointment :-( You'll have the *same sound* , the same distortion, from loud volume.. to low volume.... but still the same distortion. So definitely, those softwares are disappointing. Nothing will never replace the way pickups and volume & tone buttons of guitars, interact with valve amps. And i would like much more 5 Watt amps to be on the market because we all have to practise indoor, with neighbors. And all those softwares don't make the job. And if, one day, someone develope a software able to emulate really the valve response, i'll be interested, whatever the price. Sorry for my english : i'm french.
@PuzONinsta4 жыл бұрын
Nobody said it has to replace valve amp. Guitar Rig has its adventages and adventages. Valve amps too. Like everything. He use it to record his lessons to get same tone anytime and to not fight with setting mic and amp anytime. Nowadays we have different ways to practise and play guitar. Computer software, pods, modeler amps, anything like boss waza air and classic valve amps. Its not about what is better. Its about what do you need it for and if you enjoy it. Everybody knows that valve sounds the best...

Do you work for NI? GR6 is awful. The first clean preset was anything but clean and it sounded like mud. Then, the "Van Halen" preset did not even come CLOSE to anything resembling his tone! It was terrible! Not just as a failed attempt at the famous "Brown Sound" tone but it fails as a tone period! The same goes with the U2 AC30 Vox style preset. It was lame. The current GR5 and GR4 have much better Vox amps, especially GR4. I'm sticking with Bias 2 as well as Amplitube 5.I can't believe you said that you "Adore"? it!
