Getting a master class from Tim Pierce is a bucket list item for most guitar players... Within the industry he's incredibly well known and respected as one of the best session guitarists out there. He's worked with so many artists including Rick Springfield and Phil Collins.(to just name a couple) He's the guitar behind the Goo Goo Dolls biggest hit and he was the guitar player for Bon Jovi's first hit "Runaway". Many people think Ritchie Sambora was the guitar player for that album, but he came later... I'm so glad you had the opportunity to sit down with him, you'll remember this forever.

God I wish stuff like these KZbin videos were around 40 years ago when I was first learning to play. This is stuff I learned by trial and error without any teachers. I'm 54 now and I still learn stuff on here everyday. Kids today don't know how easy they have it. You will never have to slow your record down to 16 speed and wear it out trying to learn a solo. Anything you want to learn is likely already on KZbin somewhere.

I was not familiar with Tim, before seeing this video. My older brother, who taught guitar for years, met and got to know James Burton, also a legendary session/studio guitarist who has played for close to 400 artists. Very down to earth gentleman and very humble. A supposed legendary blues guitarist tried to show him up at a nightclub and called James up to the stage and let's just say this particular individual got rather humbled. Most people on this forum would recognize his name. I have the greatest respect for all session musicians.

Learning from the masters is the way to go Mimi and to get the chance to do it in real life is a real bonus and will really allow your guitar playing to flourish. I learned to play the guitar at the age of eight in 1959 and by the mid 60's was quite a good player then one day I just gave up and didn't really play it again until I was in my 50's. I just wish KZbin was on the go in my younger days because it has taught me a lot even listening to youngsters like yourself. Never give up like I did and now regret it, reach for the stars, anything is possible if you love it and really want it. Best Wishes.
