When you get a little older you will appreciate the simplicity and elegance of the tele, when i was younger i would never imagine having one, but they are so versatile in what they can do, my only complaint is the pickups can be way too bright on some.

I feel like you left out the PRS Custom shape, which would be an S Tier for me. I'd also have Explorer up in the S-tier. It's iconic, and where I wear it gives me the perfect arm rest. I don't sling it on my hip or thigh like most do, but it just looks cool wherever!

SG’s all the way every day! Ray, you gotta check out the Woodrite Warlord guitar! It’s a double cutaway sg-ish shape but made like a les Paul, so carved top and a weighty body! Also huge fan of offsets so Jazzmasters and Meteora 🤘🤘

I used to hate teles. Then I watched the anime called "Beck" and I fell in love with it. Then I watched "Given" and the lead guitarist in that also uses a tele. And I just started to like the shape. Now it's one of my favorite shapes easily. And turns out, they are really easy to play. The layout is a lot more comfortable than a strat because of the tone knob placement. But they definitely sound nothing alike ofc.

Rhoads or a offset V is god/S tier. Looks metal and not too bad to play with sitting down. Prefer it over a regular V style guitar due to it being easier to play. Something about that shorter end makes it easier to play sitting down compared to a King V where it gets in the way.

I’m so fan of single cuts that I played LP’s for several years and then I switched to 8 strings guitars, and I’m so proud of owning the only 3 mass produced 8 strings single cuts available: Ibanes Arzir 28 and LTD’s 258 and 1008 evertune. ❤

Both the ML and the V are perfect shapes for me I’ve played different types of guitars from super strat shape, explorers les Paul style guitars But the ml and v shapes just have my heart they take a bit of time getting used to I suppose but once you get a feel for it, it feels great They also just look badass

I get the complaints with the SG's. You're pretty much spot on. The story behind the SG is back in the late 50's the Les Paul's actually weren't selling well because a lot of people just thought they were too heavy (which they were lol) so Gibson designed the SG which was supposed to be a smaller, more lightweight guitar. They were actually even originally called the "Les Paul SG" but had to change it due to some licensing issues with Les Paul.

REAL STEINBERGERS ARE THE SICKEST GUITARS KNOWN TO MAN - But it's not about how they look - it's their phenomenal tuning stability, huge tonal range and ease of playing - a guitar reduced to the max - none of the curves that have not been needed since the invention of solid bodies and electric amplification... The headless neck, locking trem and tuning system is a work of genius focussed on avoiding string sticking points. (I got mine in the '90's for practice during biz travel and within a week it became my favourite guitar to play - only rivaled by my Lucille). However I hear that the modern cheap ones branded Steinberger under Gibson ownership are not great. Ned Steinberger still produces bass guitars and other instruments under the brand NS Design but when it comes to guitars the Gibson deal seems to have had a clause stopping him making guitars. If you ever get the chance to try a proper Steinberger try it - but if you are a traditionalist don't look in a mirror...

Explorers are a strange bird. I bought an Epiphone a few months ago just because it looks cool as hell. Personally, I was surprised with how comfortable and well balanced guitar it is. It is deffinatly a standing player guitar. It is not for sitting and playing, I mean, you can do it but requiers a change of sitting position. I have to move myself kinda to the edge of the sofa when I play. But standing up is where it shines. It is well balanced, body heavy so there is no neck dive at all. The fin or the wing at the back is a great anchor point for your elbow for that fast rythm style of James Hetfield. Also, it is a tall peoples guitar. I am not that tall (183cm or just over 6') and I find an Explorer feels better than a Strat or a Les Paul. I can see how people of smaller stature can find those guitars kinda big and cumbersome.

When I started playing, the classic Les Paul shape was the holy grail for me, then for a long time the superstrat but for many years the good old telecaster has been my favorite (not with single coils :)), which is both classic and comfortable, see the forearm cut. Aside from the "Hetfield effect", I've never really liked angular shapes. However, Robbin Crosby's (Ratt) round-shaped Jackson Firebird, which may seem interesting at first looks fantastic. By the way, the original Jackson King V was made for him, his nickname was King because of his height.

I love Rhoades they feel and play like a dream. I also prefer superstrats I cut my teeth on an Ibanez RG. Another guitar I love would be an eclipse they feel great.

Might I suggest you try playing your Solar Type E standing a bit more? Sitting you kind of have to play an Explorer in a more classical guitar stance (kind of like a V), but standing I've always found Explorers to be EXTREMELY comfortable to play. I've spent a lot of time on stage with my 04 Explorer and never had any sort of comfort issues with it.

i'm all in when it comes to s-type or super shredder versions of a strat! these always work for me and i think even design wise there's a lot of room to make it your own. when it comes to heavy styles, i recently cought myself loving the rhoads V with different long bottom horns or - and i think this is my fave heavy axe rn - jackson warrior (especially in a 7 string version aka the dave davidson sig)

The coolest shape hands down is the '58 Flying V, the most comfortable to play is the original strat. That being said I play my Les Pauls more than my strats because of the sound, Eddie had the same problem so he blended the 2 together.

Jazzmaster shape is the best. Jackson V and Les Paul are probably my second tier. The Tele is one of the worst, it looks like a f**kd up dolphin. lol. Right down at the bottom of the barrel along with any guitar that lacks a headstock - the headstock is vital to the look of any guitar. Without it, you've neutered it. Just looks stupid.

1stly Tele'a are life. 2ndly, I have a perfectly balanced Gibson SG. You need to get a grip and stop buying online. If you ask at a real guitar store for a perfectly balanced guitars you'll always get one, Gibson make the best SG's, the other companies dont care, from the kate 90's up untill 2003 Gibson definitely used to weight match the bodies to the necks with the SG's, so the only thing making them neckdive is the body wood drying out if its a faded, grover tuners and so on. If a Gibson is slightly off, you can always balance it with a heavier bridge and lighter tuners. A Gibson SG is literally they easiest guitar to balance correctly. Also, all of the Gibson SG's with vibrato units never neck dive, ever, they look cool and you dont have to use them.

WARNING; the following contains at least one opinion. =) This was mentioned in few comments already but.... Where's Jackson Kelly? It's kind common, I guess? I think it's the best guitar shape because.... - great access to higher frets thanks to deep cutaway. - arm rests comfortably on the body, you know as the body shape curves down towards the pickups, there's your hand support. For example Strats and Les Pauls don't have that. Also, I might be biased here, been a Kelly owner since late 90s. =)

For me S tier is jazz master and tele. A tier would be SG, polara, and single cuts. B tier wolfgang and PRS. C tier strat and super strat. The rest I wouldn't bother ranking zero interest.

DUDE THE SG IS THE GREATEST GUITAR EVER. Most people rely on the Les Paul or strat they are good guitars but are too overrated if you want to experience bands like AC/DC, Black Sabbath or Frank Zappa the SG is the choice.

Only two B.C. Rich designs? A friend of mine when I was a kid had an Ironbird that was wonky as hell but still fun to play. He traded that in for a Bich which I never really cared for. I have always liked the Mockingbird design, however. Other guitar designs that come to mind are the Ibanez Steve Vai designs that have a handle carved THROUGH the body. I always thought those were ridiculous. That and the Parker Fly guitars that came out in the mid 90s. Hard to describe it, Google it but IMO was always butt ugly.

Lots of talk in the beginning and big waste of time with too many words saying very little - and was one of the more frustrating videos I have seen - buy hey - I am on board with what you say and prefer your opinions more than some of the wusses I have seen that acutally think a Telecaster shape is more imaginative than a Warlock shape. I am so tired of the "Strat" shape and almost prefer anything else unless I am buying a Strat. You should have put pictures of the shapes above and below you and left them on the screen as you spoke. Most videos suffer from too much talk that says very litte and is mostly just the uncertainty of the speaker worried about criticism from idiots who cannot tell the difference between their preferences and facts. Good luck and don't worry about perfect speech or making mistakes - just speak more directly and tell us what you think. Everybody seems to be afraid to just say anything about anything because of all the negative reactions. Just ignore them all and focus. Don't explain yourself as much. Just tell us what you think or prefer. I have no problem speaking terrible things to people because I do not worry about them liking me. Why? When I was a child I would go outside to play with the other kids and when their parents saw me they called their kids inside and locked their doors. When I asked my father about this he said: "Son, I have two pieces of advice for you." "Gee dad - what's the advice?" "First - everyone hates your guts - and second - there is no hope for your future." "Wow dad. That's some pretty good advice."

Definitely me speaking as a bass player first but the jazz master is S for me. Couldnt tell you a single player who uses one but i could tell you 50 off the top of my head who use jazz basses. That shape for me is forever iconic. I love disagreeing with people though, always cool seeing someone elses opinions so i can learn something

What about Jackson Warrior, Ironbird, Ibanez X, etc.? They are all pretty different from the Dean ml and look much better. An X shaped guitar should have an upper horn IMO. The ml is more of a λ shape lol

Ok my opinion is very unpopular, but I’d put the strat in c teir or below. I just don’t like how they feel, and sound, and they’re one of the most used guitars ever, and they feel unoriginal when you see a musician using them on stage. Also, you completely forgot about the Iceman. Specifically the ps1cm, cracked mirror. That is one pretty guitar

I've never liked single cuts. Doesn't fit my hands. I'm more a strat and esp/ltd strat style player. SG's feels smaller to me, and makes me play other type of riffs. It's more abot the scale than the shape for me.
