It's pronounced lily-ack . They have done covers of some very well known songs and they are all fantastic . Their original music is 🔥 . They intended to make this song heavier than the original and they definitely succeeded !

Thanks for taking a listen to this young group! I saw Liliac in Columbus, Ohio in October 2023 and got to the front of the crowd and stood between Melody (vocals) and Sam (guitar). It was a fun show where Melody saw me singing along with their song “Dear Father” and waived to me. Their father, Papa Liliac, gave me a pick after the show. I’m going to be seeing them in February when they open for the great John 5.

The band's name is pronounced, "Lilly-ack." It is Romanian for "bat" (their parents are from Romania originally; the dad was born about an hour from Transylvania). The band are all siblings, with the oldest being 25 years old (the guitar player) and the youngest is 16 years old (the keyboard player). The fans are called "fangs."

Good reaction, no interruptions! Liliac ( Lilly-Ack ) has 3 original LPs titled Chain of Thorns, Queen of Hearts and the newly released Madness. They got their start doing cover and the lead vocalist Melodys main inspiration is Dio and you can definitely hear it on their covers of Rainbow In The Dark, Holy Diver and The Last In Line ( Wendy Dio was so impressed with their covers of Rainbow and Holy Diver that she reached out to them to cover The Last In Line for RDJs Cancer Benefit show ) Hopefully you react to more of their stuff because they are Amazing!

Welcome to Liliac (lil-ee-ack) which is Romanian for bat. They are all siblings, Sam on guitar is the oldest, he’s 24, followed by Abigail who got married in August, on drums, Melody vocals and flute, Ethan on bass and Justin, sixteen on keyboards. Melody originally played bass and Ethan rhythm guitar. Their parents are both from Romania, their families immigrated when they were kids and they met at church and eventually married and started their family. Their parents didn’t want them sitting around playing video games on weekends so they got them involved in music and learning instruments. The kids all turned out to be very talented and when they heard metal for the first time said that’s what they wanted to learn. Their parents arranged for them to started playing on weekends on the pier in Santa Monica to get used to playing before live crowds. Stuart Copeland from the Police heard them and even sat in for a few songs and eventually Vinny Appice heard them and introduced them to Wendy Dio since Melody is such a huge fan of RJD. She asked them to perform Last in Line for the cancer tribute concert. They started out doing covers and their first three albums are covers, Covers Vol. One, Covers Vol. Two and Covers Vol, Three followed by their albums of their original music, Chain of Thorns, Queen of Hearts, Mad Life and Madness. Heaven and Hell is the first cover they’ve done in awhile. Sawtooth has been providing their equipment exclusively for the past few years. If you look at a close up of Sam’s guitars, there’s a bat symbol imbedded in one of the frets, and Ethan plays a five string bass.

Both Vinny Apppice and Wendy Dio know of Liliac. Melody has done several songs with Vinny's group Sabbath Nights and Wendy Dio asked them to perform The Last In Line for the Dio Cancer Fund Tribute. Vinny gave them a previously unreleased version to do. Anything they do is great, covers or originals. Go down the rabbit hole, you will not be disappointed.

It’s produced “LILY-ACK” not the flower. Congratulations on discovering Liliac. Nobody covers Dio songs better. Checkout their Metal covers and their originals are great also. Sam is just 24 now, and is already one of the best Rock Guitarists on the planet. Melody is a fabulous performer. Note her body movements as she whales out those iconic lyrics.

Hangin & Bangin #58 here on KZbin is an interview with Melody and the Appice Brothers. Vinnie invited her to Sabbath Nights where she performed live as lead and then did session recordings with Vinnie, Michael Batio and Rudy Sarzo.. Sabbath and Dio stuff. Vinnie has a seal of approval on Mel and the band. And I'm sure by now someone has mentioned the invite by Wendy Dio to play the Charity gig. Wendy is the Queen of Metal to Ronnie's King; so, Command performance? This band is legit next gen Metal with Old school roots.

Judging from your body language, you quite obviously enjoyed this tribute cover performance by this extraordinarily talented family band LILIAC pronounced lil ee ack. It is undeniably a great rendition of the original, though it was made their own with the addition of their Liliac signature sound included innovative guitar solo and Melody's distinctive voice and high-pitched screams, its therefore a shame you never mentioned whether you liked them or there effort . I don't expect you to gush over them just to hear your honest thoughts and reaction. You spent more time talking about DIO/BLACK SABBATH who were fantastic but weren't the subject of your reaction . Nevertheless, I have given you my subscription in the hope of more LILIAC reactions . FANG4LIFE RORH ,

Liliac does some very good cover work. No need to bother with their original songs. They are nothing special.
@zzbear3177 ай бұрын
Disagree. Early stuff is even good - written by a bunch of teenagers. What hooked me originally was the video for "Nothing" - the tempo changes and raw emotion of that song is amazing. Mars (live from Cumming, GA), Dear Father, Vertigo... so many solid originals. I would suggest to someone who hasn't heard their originals to give them a listen. The newer stuff is more diverse and experiments with different styles and genres.. I enjoy all that they do!

@zzbear317 It doesn't matter how we reply to comments like this one. You have people out there who will dish on other good bands, because they only support one certain band like the "Warning", for example and are jealous that another band can perform just as good or better than the one they only support. And this is such a shame, because there are so many bands out there who are great and doesn't get the recognition as they should because of people like this Troll and their nasty not true comments. So, lets Rock on and Rock Hard! RORH!!! @@zzbear317
