I don’t understand the hype on modelers and updates. It seems like folks play more with the software than playing music with their guitar. If I would use a modeler I would certainly go with the Kemper as it is the most used platform for gigging musicians (what I am not).

Look at the demo setup. Four Tonex devices. Cost is 900 Euros plus, almost the price of the Kemper Player plus all upgrades. Oh, and make the announcement 2 months early to poop on Kemper's just recently released upgrades. Yeah, wait to go, IK.

@@andrezcabara2774 Because it's a demo setup. I'd never use 4 tonex pedals at once, makes absolutely no sense. If turning on fx would work via midi (it should) - all you need is a big pedal + midi controller. I tested Nano Cortex recently with 45$ midi controller and it works great, so i guess there should be no problem with tonex, I might be wrong though.

@@galtonestudio No "booster" or "overdrive" FX (which is why you need the Tonex ONE in front for that). Neither Tonex can send one output to PA (with CAB sim) and another without CAB sim to a power amplifier. No bluetooth streaming. Nothing equivalent to liquid profiles. No morphing. No gapless switching. No spill over. No editor for Tonex ONE for editing on the fly. Even the Kemper Player without upgrades has more FX options than the Tonex with this free upgrade. Yes, IK is great, and this is an awesome value, but let's drop the "Shame on Kemper". Kemper has its place. If not for you, get the Tonex.

Why just a pedal? Why don't you guys produce a Tonex small solid state combo amp like Boss Katana? I would be first to buy an amp which can sound like every single tube amp I chose. And few of them with a footswitch. It would be a great thing to have footrwichable Dumble, JCM 800 and Soldano SLO. Or some Bogner or Matchless.

I'm pretty sure it didn't have that. They probably had to change a lot in software in order to make it work. Even if you'll take a look at tonex pedal layout, there's no mod/delay etc. I think it's great that they actually include that as a FREE update, even though the tonex is the cheapest profiler on a market and they could charge 600-700$ for completely new device.

I think that's fair, nothing wrong with that. But announcing this two months before release right after Kemper released its paid upgrades, you be the judge. The demo setup here has a cost of 900 Euros, btw (Tonex pedal + 3 x Tone ONE). That's almost the price of the Player plus both upgrades.

Loads of companies do updates to their products? Line 6 has been updating the Helix for almost 10 years and no one has complained about their updates? Not sure what the issue is? This is a free update which gives you even more than what you previously had…
