I've got two Chinese-made Epiphone semi-hollows - the NG Riviera will be my next - and the build quality is phenomenal. I've played the NG recently and it looks stunning and plays beautifully.

Looks gorgeous. Semi-hollows just seem to always sound meh with most pickups imo. I get my Oasis tones from my Orange amp with brighter pickups…which makes sense. This probably would work well with a Vox.

the mini humbuckers in the regular Riviera cut through any mix, can't imagine why they replaced them with muddy old regular humbuckers.

It looks superb. A poor persons ES335 that might benefit from a pick up upgrade. Just put a second strap button on. It’s no big deal. A luthier could easily patch up the hole you don’t want, so to speak.

The pickups were the best thing about the Riviera, and they replaced those gorgeous minis with std HBs. yawn...
