I was there september 2006 when Loreena had this amazing concert at the wonderful palace of Alhambra. A night to remember for the rest of my life. We where only 250 people in the audience i think.A very small venue and intimite. She is wonderful. Thank you for reacting to the princess of music.👍👍👍

Loreena McKennitt is Canadian. She was the musical director for the Stratford theatre in Stratford, Ontario Canada years ago. Her music is very Celtic (Irish) as is her choice of instrumental accompaniment.

And I read yesterday that L. McKennitt initially served as honorary colonel of the Winnipeg-based 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron from 2006 to 2015. She was then appointed as honorary colonel of the Royal Canadian Air Force, a role she served from 2015 to June 2024.

Really nice choice, Lorenna has a lot of fantastic songs! Lorenna, Enya, Kitaro, Vangelis.. were all the best for "new age" music!

Good job! She is one of my favorite singers, along with Annie Haslam. Btw, Celtic is now pronounced like Keltic. While the early pronunciation was with an /s/ sound, reflecting its nearest origin in French, the modern standard is a hard "c" sound like /k/. This is because language historians desired the word to better reflect its Greek and Classical Latin origins.

My favourite Loreena track, but everything from this concert is exquisite. Yes, you're right, the lute like instrument is an oud. The instrument played with a handle is a hurdy gurdy. Hope you don't think I'm being pedantic, and huge apologies for the English language, but the word "Celtic" is pronounced 'seltic' when it refers to the football team, (I think they mis-pronounce it), but it is pronounced with a hard 'c' when it refers to the Celts (the race of people who lived in Britain before the Romans invaded, and were pushed out to Ireland, Wales and Scotland), so it is pronounced 'keltic' when it refers to that genre of folk music.

Yes, it's supposed to be pronounced like (Keltic). But the team you're thinking of is the Boston Celtics, (NBA basketball team).

@@kentclark6420 LoL. I come from the other side of the pond. Never heard of Boston Celtics. Celtic is a Scottish football team. That's football as in soccer.
