Cool story about Norah: I was drinking with a couple guys in a dive bar in NYC. They were in the furniture moving business. They had a job to move someone's stuff from a shitty part of Brooklyn to a prestigious address in Manhattan. They thought it was odd. They show up at the address in Brooklyn and who do they meet, but a tired and worn out Norah. Just hours earlier she had won a boatload of Grammy awatds in LA. She made history that night, if you remember. She took a red-eye back to NYC because the moving company was coming in the morning. They moved her few belongings to an amazing apartment in Manhattan. She bought them lunch and tipped them well. Their last image of her as they were leaving was essentially of a woman in shock. There she was with all those grammy awards she just won that night, in an amazing apartment she just moved into that day. She had the look like "How did I get here"?

@@Guitargate Oh, I forgot. She went out for coffee sometime during the day while the movers were moving her stuff and she came back with newspapers. She was on the front pages of the Daily News and the New York Post holding her Grammys she just won the night before .Isn't that cool?

Pro tip, use K as play/pause (it always works, unlike the spacebar) & J / K for 10s skips backwards / forwards ;) Anyhow, love Norah Jones, always a class act.

I remember back in the day when most TV appearances sounded (audio-wise) like garbage - but it's so cool to hear how GOOD the mix sounds, the vocals and every instrument so crisp. She's phenomenal.

Hey Michael - nice breakdown. Totally agree about the tasteful drumming - that's Brian Blade I think. Another good one by Norah Jones if you haven't checked it out already is Flipside (live at Newport Jazz festival is a great version), I think you'd enjoy it - also great drumming, groove and harmonies. Quite uptempo and a different style for her but one of her originals. Do you think the Cm on this song could be a sus or min11 chord or have some of that flavour in the piano lines?

Michael, I know you enjoy a nice story-telling song and you also love a unique voice. Not to mention, the guitar is so smooooth. I have discovered an artist that has blown my socks off. Please check out Ole 60 and their song Brother Joe. You shall not be disappointed my friend!

Norah Jones is incredible. Been a fan since she came out. Another fun artist is Regina Spektor. They're my two favorite female singers. Legends.

Cool fact if you didn't already know, Norah Jones is the daughter of Ravi Shankar, who the beatles went to see in India.

A fantastic arrangement indeed, but IMHO some voices need no embellishment - Norah's is one of them. (Her skills and talent are up there with Ella, Nina, Sarah, Adele & other female singers.)

It's nice to step away from rock music once in awhile. There is a world of music that doesn't include screaming guitars. 😅
