Being honest with yourself in your weaknesses is definitely a good mindset to become a great guitar player. I think most great guitar players/musicians i have met always think they suck or something but in reality they are actually really good but just has that learner's mindset of "I could be better". Keep up the good work, keep learning, and also trying playing with your thumb on the back of the neck instead of over the neck for fast legato runs and sweeps, hopefully that helps!

A trick I learned to do to make it easier to downpick was to make a small circular motion with the fingers holding my pick

All my favorite guitar players played rhythm! So long as you play with a lot of feeling and emotion you’ll do just fine. I find most lead guitar playing to being boring and repetitive these days anyhow.

Using thinner strings helped with my vibrato a lot. Also trying to imitate certain players (George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, etc.) also helped a lot. Was probably the earliest thing I tried to learn because I found that a weak vibrato can kill an otherwise really good lick/riff/solo. But keep on chugging dude! Takes a lot of guts to admit your weaknesses and show them to people on the internet, especially other guitar players because just like assholes we all have opinions lol

It's nice to see guitarists not having huge egos like they always do. I can absolutely admit all my weaknesses that I have because I know that I can improve on any technique if I practice more. How long have you been playing for by the way? love to know!

I think you're just putting too much strength on the grip for the bend vibrato. Try to put the thumb lower on the back of the neck and you will have a pivot point instead of a full on grip. Should help with making sense of how much strength is needed to just support the neck and allow it to bounce a bit.

metronome is your best friend man, there are rythm videos you can play with. Bradley hall guitar youtuber makes rythm videos you can play to

If you want to improve your rhythm guitar playing I recommend learning riffs and also to learn your basic cowboy chords and get comfortable with moving between them. Then when you get comfortable with that maybe consider learning your 7,9,11,and 13 chords.

My problems with rhythm aren't not knowing the cords or how to progress between them. It's more timing and picking patterns that are my issue. Thanks for the advice though.
