The sound of the Quake Bass in Piccolo Tuning is kinda like that of an Acoustic-Electric Guitar with a Piezoelectric Pickup plugged into the Guitar amp on the Clean Setting.

The bass sounds like a free guitar VST instrument.

blue cheese cult, the Piccolo Bass has a really crunchy sound that no other Guitar can produce.

@@taylordiclemente5163 That might be perfect for Stevie Wonder's Superstition if you tune the whole thing down half a step. The Clavinet is an Electric Clavichord that plugs into an amp.

The piccolo tuning sounded pretty cool. I think it would be interesting if you did a 6 string mod on this, and tuned it E2-E4 with something like a set 5-7 gauge strings
@RockStarOscarStern6344 жыл бұрын
That might rock because a higher scale allows you to get away with thinner strings and a brighter sound.

That Piccolo Bass sound is very crunchy which might be great for song covers. The longer scale and thinner strings does produce a brighter sound often heard in metal.

Those Fanned Frets were the other thing that also changed the sound because with Short Treble Strings and Long Bass Strings (like the Harp and Piano) it sounds almost like a Distorted Piano.

The longer scale length, the better sound quality. The only reason we keep it short is practicality. So orchestras can have fifths tuning, guitarists can have chords, and bassists don't have to fly all over the fretboard.

As a bassist who once played guitar a long time ago this was cool video. Part of reason I love the bass is how dense and fat the bass sounds. IMHO a piccolo bass is the only style of tuning that actually sounds good with overdirvie. Iow well done.
