@ilenecastaldo6004 жыл бұрын
Very good and easy to follow. You are the first person to get that “d11” chord right. I’ve been playing this and never thought just a d sounded right. But that is what was taught on another channel. I watched them play it and saw it looked like a c on the 3rd fret, not thinking that was really a chord and I played it and realized that is what it was! So then I checked on your channel and you also play it that way. Thanks so much! And you really cleared up the strumming for me.

Thanks so much for the tutorial! I was having a hard time with the line at the end of the 3rd verse (I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind, got my paper and I was free) and realized it is an extra line and has a different chord progression than every other verse: G D Cadd9 D, then for "I was free" back to G A7sus4 G. Appreciate the help with the strumming and everything else. Really useful.

@stevens.zavack5631 Жыл бұрын
Very good tutorial: one suggestion (from a long time player/teacher): the "G Major" chord taught to most beginners is the 3-finger version (open "B/2nd"). Your using the variation with the added "D" note on that 2nd. string. This should be pointed out in the beginning to avoid confusion. Thank you. Keep up the good work! < SZ/bs>

Great tutorial, but I think you're missing a small detail here. I think you have the intro right acoustically, but during the rest of the song on all versions I've heard (with bass, at least), listen and you'll hear that the second chord is Am with A in the bass (not an F#). I think it's a more powerful climb (G, Am, C, D). At any rate, I love your tutorials.
@GuitarAtWork5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul - not sure which part you mean though. Cheers, Shane

Love this, thanks. It would be nice to have a better close up of your chord hand though. It’s just a little far away for me to see clearly switching back and forth between chords or adding variations. I do love how slowly you take each section but still bring it up to speed to remember what it is you are working towards. I think the close up, or even a fingering overlay in the corner, would really help though ... especially for folks that don’t know all the variations of different chords. Thanks! Love IG!

Love everything about this video, except that you have one too many downstrokes on the strum pattern. It didn’t feel right to me and then I watched another video on this song and that one is right. I think. Anyway, it should go down, pause, up down up.
