Ted’s solo band is my favorite in all of hard rock, glad to see his music getting the attention and respect it deserves, he’s definitely one of the greatest of all time! 🐐💯

His debut is one of the best debuts of all time imo. Killer all the way through. Ted was something special in the 70s.

I thought Ted's band in the 70s was the business, Derek St Holmes was a very underappreciated talent, especially vocally. Not surprisingly then, my favourites come from that era. Charlie Huhn did a fine job too. 5 Favourites 1 Ted Nugent 2 Double Live Gonzo 3 Free For All 4 Weekend Warriors 5 Cat Scratch Fever.

I remember seeing Ted at Hammersmith Odeon in 1980. I took a friend who fell asleep (unbelievable I know!). I generally think his albums are patchy but he has written great songs. My top 5 are: 5. Damn Yankees debut. There are 3 great Ted songs, & his guitar is brilliant throughout. (It’s not my favourite only because it’s not all Ted) 4. ShutUp&Jam 3. Intensities in 10 Cities 2. Scream Dream 1. Double Live Gonzo - the best versions of all his classics

Great show. Hack and I have 4 of the same top 5. Not his best but for me his most underrated album is Nugent from 1982. Nobody else seems to like it other than me. My other favourites are Cat Scratch Fever, Scream Dream, Ted Nugent and Love Grenade

It was mentioned that several of Nugent's albums contain songs that have a Southern Rock feel to them. I always thought that this was unsurprising for him and other artists from Michigan. Nugent (metro Detroit), Seger (Ann Arbor), and the members of Grand Funk Railroad (Flint) all would have been around a lot of transplants from the South who came to Michigan to work in the auto industry as they were growing up, and as a result would have been exposed to some of the same influences as those bands we consider as being squarely in the Southern Rock genre.

Longtime fan. Seen Him 15 times over the years. Most recently last summer. He's still great. Here's My take #1. Double Live Gonzo ! One of the best albums in any category by anybody. I never leave live albums off My lists. Ted Nugent especially is way more important and better understood as a live rocker then anything. #2. Free For All / Cat Scratch Fever. I can't pick. Both perfect albums. Both Ted Nugent at His best. #3. Ted Nugent I would rate this as equal to the other 2. But the song Hey Baby causes it to Not be a perfect album. I want to hear Ted Nugent songs not Bad company. Its a low point for Me when He does it live. There's so much better to choose from. #4. Scream Dream Another mind blowing smoking Nugent album. Could easily rate this in the top 3 as well. Only gets better with age. My first Nugent concert. And one of the loudest concerts I ever saw. Wild times ! #5. Intencities In Ten Cities again I DO rate live albums. And this is a killer one. Teds most brutal album. Teds most punk rock album. Snub nosed heavy metal garage rock played live. So many good memories go along with this one. when it was new. First girlfriend , First car. #6. Weekend Warriors This album confused Me when it was new. But like scream Dream its only gotten better with age. One of the coolest album covers by any band ever ! #7. Little Miss Dangerous Its true that this could be said to be a hair metal album. But for whatever reason I just love it. I love the sound and production. Very polished. Yet very loud and rockin. Love nearly every song. Another one I still love more each year. Saw Him live 3 times that tour. I assure You Nugent was on fire at the time. #8 Tooth Fang & Claw I know technically not a true Nugent album. But then again it is. Very cool album cover and the hardest heaviest thing with the name Amboy Dukes on it for sure. I could be convinced to rate this a little higher on another day. Call Of The Wild is damn good too. As well as the other Amboy Dukes albums. But thats really another thing. #9. Craveman One of his heaviest albums. And tons of damn good songs. Should have been a bigger hit for Him. #10. Spirit Of The Wild another great album. The return of Derick St Holmes. Loads of great songs. The masterpiece that is Fred Bear alone makes this worth owning. #11. Hammersmith live 79, Sweden Rocks live, Full Bluntal Nugity , UltraLive Ballistic Rock & Motor City Mayhem. All great live CDs well worth owning. Teds always best as a live animal. #12. Love Grenade Another very heavy Nugent album. About 3-4 mind blowing songs and the rest might be filler. But still not bad. #13 If You Can't Lick Em, Lick Em. 3 songs on this I really love. The rest is typical Nugent but just not as inspired as usual. Just filler I guess. #14. Shut Up And Jam Another album with 3 songs that blow Me away and I love. But the rest seems like filler. #15 State Of Shock badass album cover. And Paralyzed is a great song amongst His best ever. But I can't find much else to love about this one. #16 The Music Made Me Do it Very short album. First 4 songs rule. I could rate this higher if He had kept that up. But the remakes and instro stuff. the blues. Not for Me. But did show the old maniac can still do it. If we could get Him to do a full 12 song album of stuff as good as the first 4 songs. It would be another classic. #17 Hunt Music A very quiet mostly instrumental music. Very different side of Ted. I enjoy it. Its a obscure self released CD. A lot of his critics would be very surprised to hear this one. #18. Nugent This one just hit Me wrong. I saw this tour. As always a great live show. I guess Tailgunner is like a weak Stranglehold. And thats about the best song. Every few Years I try to revisit it. But its just not for Me. #19 Penetrator Kind of strange I rate the hair metal Little Miss Dangerous so High. But this as His worst ever? I don't know. I saw the tour. Great show. I love Tied Up In Love. But very little else can I get into at all.

My 1st Ted Nugent concert was at a small theater in San Diego called Golden Hall in 1976. The opening band was none other than RUSH. Both bands were incredible & Ted was soooooo fucking loud!!!! For me, the only Ted Nugent album you need is Double Live Gonzo! As for studio albums mine are 1. Ted Nugent 2. Free For All 3. Tooth, Fang & Claw 4. Call Of The Wild 5. Scream Dream

Looking from a none-American perspective this is interesting. In Europe Ted Nugent is rarely or ever played anywhere here. Not what I hear or see anyway. He just didn't get that big here or at least his music isn't something many talk about today. All we hear is how much of a lunatic he is. Nevermind his skills on guitar or over the top stage persona. I think many here dislike Ted but have no real understanding of why. They just hear something or catch on to a popular opinion. Which I think is sad. Ted Nugent might be strong at this age but he won't live forever. What has a chance of living longer is his music and I think many rock bands can learn a thing or two from him. I think Ted Nugents music at his best catches something very american like Aerosmith or Stevie Ray Vaughan. Just a groove and attitude thing that I think is very missing today.

Great you're doing a show about Ted Nugent cause all his vinyl is pretty cheap due to his politics and insane things he says. So you can find his stuff without spending too much money. I have this theory that his awful politics makes prices go down, which is insane too. I saw a girl here on You Tube destroying a Cat Scratch Fever album once. I think I ordered all his 70's collection from a seller on discogs at $2.00 each, including double Gonzo, like 7 LP´s some years ago. You can't do that with Pink Floyd for example.
