The song needs some pretty advanced techniques like sweep picking and fast alternate picking. So in a year there's no chance you could master the song. In a year you might be able to play the main riff and the slow riff in the middle of the song.

Definitely. He doesn't get same intonation as Mustaine for the part right before the minor chords. All of the notes THERE are correct, but the sounding is different because he isn't grabbing all of the chords like Mustaine. He is playing the part like Ellefson plays on bass, if you've seen Ellefson play that section live.

it's pretty unlikely most people would be able to play this after a year on the guitar, probably 3-4ish minimum for the solo sections. though saying that i'm pretty sure mr phenoms only been playing for a short period of time but he obviously has an extreme degree of aptitude towards the instrument, combined with countless hours of guitar heroing which without a doubt builds muscle strength in your left hand

i think it's the otherway around LEARNING it on guitar will be harder yes, but as for actually playing the song once you actually learnt it then real guitar will be easier cos of the muscle memory, you don't really need to think about what's next it's almost like your hands will have a mind of it's own
