He's amazing. Sting was a prick, But brilliant. Life on the road is hard with any Band

After decades I understood that Andy was the glue that held together the great bass lines and Stewart's insane drumming. He knows what to play at the right time. Like Gilmour.

Andy had to immediately regret coming on to this show. They didn’t even scratch the surface on what they could’ve with questions regarding the band and the documentary. You have a guy like him on from one of the biggest groups ever and you end it that abruptly? Ridiculous.

I thought that..would love to see a really serious in depth interview with Andy Summers with people who would just let him talk, rather than control things..He is such an intelligent, interesting and humble guy who Id very much like to know more about..Andy will be 79 on New Year's Eve..Let's appreciate and make the most of him while we can and may he remain among us for many more years 😀

Having been in bands there's always conflict about direction, who is the boss and what you are being allowed to contribute but as Andy said this makes the individuals more determined and usually creates better music.

I was surprised to learn that Sting wrote the guitar riffs for Invisible Sun and Message in a Bottle. Not to take anything away from Andy or Stewart, but Sting really was the musical mastermind behind the band.
@rinohunter61906 жыл бұрын
Without Stewart’s percussion and persistence, his brother Miles promotion and Andy’s guitar (90% Andy’s riffs!) The Police wouldn’t have happened because Sting preferred soft jazz like he ended up performing after (and before) the Police.

Kit Sting has a whole vineyard that he and Trudy saved from disasterous conditions. He’s made way more money than the other two. You may consider him an old fart. I think he’s very very smart and has accomplished a great deal more than the other former members. He continued to create successful music after the breakup and his financial worth is way out ahead of them. So that says something about this man.

Andy Summers was the man who came up with the fantastic guitar riff than made 'Every breath you take', The Police's biggest ever song...And years later after the band broke up Sting gave permission to P Diddy to use/sample that riff for 'I'm missing you' without even asking Andy if it was OK and it was one of Andy & Kate's twin boys who heard it on the radio and were saying 'Dad, you're on the radio but it's not you' (From One Train Later) Andy Summers understandbly wasn't too happy about it but to his credit, handled it diplomatically like the Zen Buddhist he is...

The Police weren't even the worst example. Men at Work had it worse. Only 3 studio albums, and the third one was recorded after they lost two members, and one more quit before it was finished. Fame is very tempting, and gives you the illusion of superiority.
