I wish he’d stayed with the Wal, I’m not a musician so I can’t really put my finger on it but something about the Fender just doesn’t sound right to me. Probably the fact that I know it’s not a Wal or Ric LOL

Iv seen Rush 10 times live. Its hard to really appreciate how good they are, by the studio albums. Rush isnt for everyone and i get that...my opinion of this is because everyone isnt a musician.. most musicians understand why they are so incredible. Iv listened to them for over 30 years and im still in awe. Iv also been fortunate enough to have met Geddy and Alex. Such sweet and humble guys. Made me love them even more. Rush is the only band iv listened to on a regular bases since i discovered them when i was alot younger.. Best band to ever do it.

The only thing better than listening to your favorite Rush album, is someone else enjoying it for the first time. 👍😎

Probably my favorite of this album. Take that with a grain of salt based on me saying that for every song so far lol. Got to see them live 22 times and one of my favorite moments was when they brought this back on the Clockwork Angels tour. Only next to Losing It on the R40 tour.

Alex is a real artist on this album. I know he personally felt limited during this period of Rush but I believe this album is one of their best from a songwriting and sound perspective.
@adrian302010 ай бұрын
Totally agree. It may be my favorite Rush album. Geddys voice is incredible as well. And the lyrical mood tied in with a lot of what I was reading at the time. Dystopian, dark and dynamic...

PERFECT SONG. Loved watching you continually shake your head in the disbelief in its perfection. My musical regret - not seeing them more often. 9 times, but still there were tours I skipped in later years. WHY?! What was I thinking?? Especially since now years later I’ve taken such a liking to Vapor Trails that I once considered trash.

Yeah, that was really good to. It's been a long while since I've listened to this album. I would still put every album that came before it a head of it in a ranking. Rush fan from the beginning, seen their very first show ever in the US with Neil Peart & went back to see them every time they come back. Four of us those times as an opening act. Always great shows through out their careers.

Appreciate the reaction from a musician, and not simply a Patreon request that the reviewers simply nod along with to get more requests. My favorite song from one of my favorite albums. Alex: "Again, this was not an easy song to record and in a way it was our dream to get the thing finished! For me personally, I was never happy with the guitar parts, and it took a number of re-writes before we actually got it together. But in the end, the number was very satisfying for me and it was well worth all the trouble." Geddy: "I like Middletown Dreams a lot - you know, every once in a while we write a good melody!"

Some of the 80's Rush albums are great to listen to on headphones. They really embraced the production values of the day and became more experimental studio musicians. You can hear the influences of The Police and U2. Hold your Fire was the only weak one for me and I really didn't get many albums other than A Show of Hands (a must have) until Presto came out and I love that album.

You may still get the chance to see Geddy and Alex playing live with another drummer. After doing this at the Taylor Hawkins tribute shows last year, Geddy has said he is working on Alex to do more, as prompted by encouragement from Sir Paul McCartney no less.
