Hi everyone. As you can see, it's been a couple of weeks since OLR has posted any Rush reactions. It is my sad duty to inform you that after listening to the Fountain of Lamneth, he lost all power of speech and rational thought. The sheer awesomeness of this 20 minute masterwork was too much for his brain to process. He is recuperating and hopes to be able to post something coherent soon.

@@adriangarside3879 100% 👍 Just what are the majority of twenty two/three year olds doing with themselves in this day and age? Actually a rhetorical question. Just one of the many reasons RUSH was, is, and will always be the greatest band ever. Not to mention, besides their mind blowing talent, these are some of the nicest guys out there. Not your typical once we got rich we got screwed up bands. Always the consummate professionals.

Yeah totally, it's soooo way ahead of its' time! The opening is one of the best I have ever heard. It's utterly perfect! Geddy's voice on this is amazing! One of my top 5 favourite RUSH tracks! It's always utterly amazed me how just 3 guys could make this sound! Mike Oldfield is the same - crazily talented! But RUSH could play this live, on stage, and still be mind blowing and actually better than the recorded versions!

I remember when this album came out. Running to the record store, then tucked away in my bedroom with the head phones turned up. This was music that went to another level because I grew up listening to Ma and Dads Country Albums which were a stepping stone (maybe a Gateway) to music that really moved me, including the lyrics. I really like this album as well as all the early ones, maybe because I was there in the beginning and each new album was an adventure.

Dude! You finally summed up what all of us Alex Lifeson fans have known all along, it’s his imagination and style that moves him to the forefront of so many other guitarist without having to be an Yngve Malmsteen virtuoso. He’s an Absolute Killer Guitar Master, bar none. I love Jimmy Page’s riffs and guitar work, but I adore Lifeson’s Uniqueness and mastery of the music itself. It’s plain and simply, Music To The Ears. I’m having a great time watching your reaction videos, keep them coming. 😎

Alex in his playing, the same as Gilmour in his, just know the right note to hit and drive you into an incredible emotional state. Guys like Malmsteen and other oh so flashy guitarists, no matter how skilled they are simply are not able to do that. They are excelent in their skills but they are simply just that.

This is easily one of the most perfect Rush songs out there. It has a little bit of everything, all done to an amazing level. It has the slower riffs that build tension and excitement that are just beautiful. It has the headbanger hard solos, it has amazing lyrics, tells an amazing story, the composition is top notch, just perfection. Shame that this album didn’t do too well when one of their best songs is on it.

This one of the “go to” songs to air jam to when we were kids. Rush is the only band where you can’t decide which instrument to do so you end up looking like an epileptic. I mean we all did, at least that’s what my friends mom would say when she came in to tell yell at us to shut down that darn music, we had fun though Hope that made sense. Now I just have my wife telling me to grow up when I’m air jamming. It’s all Rush’’ fault

What a superb showcase of each players talent. I love this track The early part of Rush's career had a lot of sci-Fi and sword and sorcery and us early rush fans just loved it so much. I still can't believe that this album didn't do far better commercially, and it led to their label giving them one last chance to come up with a "commercially successful" album. Which, of course, was 2112! This is still one of my favorite Rush albums, and it shows a direction that Rush would take in their future, much like the album Meddle did for Pink Floyd. Awesome! Merry Christmas Tim! I was going to listen to some Christmas music today but when I saw you had this song up I had to put it on right away. Excellent, glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!

The mood and setting they establish at the beginning never fails to enthrall me! Gosh dang this song and album are so fantastic! PS - I guess prior By-Tor's butt-whupping by Snow Dog turned his heart to gold! ;-)

Just FYI "Willowdale" is the name of the suburb in which Alex and Geddy grew up and where they might still live.

To think that the record company didn’t get this album, Paul Stanley didn’t understand this album when they played it for him while on tour and the album was not well received by all. Then there ultimatum was there next album. Needless to say the rest is history. Thank you for your wonderful reaction! I have been a fan since day one.

I am sorry to say that I was a thief back in 1974. I was 13 years old. I used to go in to people's cars and take their sound systems. Anyway, I took a cassette player and some Jensen coax speakers out of a car and also the tapes. I don't remember the year , but I hooked up the speakers and played a tape. It happened to be Rush. I played it as loud as it would go. It was life changing. The tape was Caress of Steel. I got over being a thief, but now I am almost glad that I stole that stuff. I'm now an honorably discharged veteran, and a Rush fan for life. If I was given a choice to listen too any one band in my life, I would choose Rush. I love the comments here and hope I don't sound too much like an idiot, but when I watched your reaction to 2112 I was so happy. I am glad a new generation of people will feel what I did way back then.

This is my eighth listen while waiting for the next instalment - Fountain of Lamneth - I’ll keep coming back every day until. Hope you’re well Tim and this hiatus is purely holidays driven and not bad news.

Love the format, especially if you feel like you are enjoying the album more absolutely although Hemispheres is probably in a lot of people's top five Rush albums. Now it's time for Permanent Waves!!! Another album that usually makes the top three it's really difficult to pick the top three LOL. It's definitely watching these three evolve! Love this album!!

It's really sad that this beautiful album - from start to finish - was at the time so underrated and so depressed by the band's own musicians. Caress Of Steel: a masterpiece that deserved to be performed in full in a concert at the end of the trio's brilliant career. It would be dazzling. Sadly, we'll never see that. I love you Rush for all my life. From Brazil. 🙏🏻✨🌟 🇧🇷
