Hi everyone. As you can see, it's been a couple of weeks since OLR has posted any Rush reactions. It is my sad duty to inform you that after listening to the Fountain of Lamneth, he lost all power of speech and rational thought. The sheer awesomeness of this 20 minute masterwork was too much for his brain to process. He is recuperating and hopes to be able to post something coherent soon.

@@adriangarside3879 100% 👍 Just what are the majority of twenty two/three year olds doing with themselves in this day and age? Actually a rhetorical question. Yeah totally, it's soooo way ahead of its' time! The opening is one of the best I have ever heard. It's utterly perfect! Geddy's voice on this is amazing! One of my top 5 favourite RUSH tracks! It's always utterly amazed me how just 3 guys could make this sound! Mike Oldfield is the same - crazily talented! But RUSH could play this live, on stage, and still be mind blowing and actually better than the recorded versions!

I remember when this album came out. Running to the record store, then tucked away in my bedroom with the head phones turned up. This was music that went to another level because I grew up listening to Ma and Dads Country Albums which were a stepping stone (maybe a Gateway) to music that really moved me, including the lyrics. I really like this album as well as all the early ones, maybe because I was there in the beginning and each new album was an adventure.

Dude! You finally summed up what all of us Alex Lifeson fans have known all along, it’s his imagination and style that moves him to the forefront of so many other guitarist without having to be an Yngve Malmsteen virtuoso. He’s an Absolute Killer Guitar Master, bar none. I love Jimmy Page’s riffs and guitar work, but I adore Lifeson’s Uniqueness and mastery of the music itself. It’s plain and simply, Music To The Ears. It has the slower riffs that build tension and excitement that are just beautiful. Anyway, I took a cassette player and some Jensen coax speakers out of a car and also the tapes. I don't remember the year , but I hooked up the speakers and played a tape. It happened to be Rush. I played it as loud as it would go. It was life changing. The tape was Caress of Steel. I got over being a thief, but now I am almost glad that I stole that stuff. I'm now an honorably discharged veteran, and a Rush fan for life. If I was given a choice to listen too any one band in my life, I would choose Rush.
