The 1st guy that came up is Joe Alwyn, he's a british actor, he's her current boyfriend since 2016. She keeps their relationship very private for the most part, especially because of the media.
@elizabethjulia203 жыл бұрын
I think the song is far easier to understand when you realise it's great because it's 100% sarcastic, she's written a song from the perspective of a character(the manipulative serial dater girl the media paints) and it's *100% not herself* ... so it's the ultimate parody, rather than be upset because she hates the media she becomes the character for a song and makes the joke better. (she also did this with her entire reputation album after being "cancelled" as a "snake" by kanye and kim kardashian)
@vanessa10523 жыл бұрын
This song is just a critic to the media. She was like “oh yeah, that’s who you thinks I am? Let me pretend to be like that and get money from it”. The man it’s also a critic to how sexism exists. You should watch the documentary “Miss Americana”

For someone who calls himself disheveled and jaded, you sure have a similar sense of humour to Taylor - dry, sarcastic and often self-deprecating, LOL! I think a big reason why Taylor has so many fans is because her catalogue is so diverse - there's something for everyone. As a fellow music snob as well + long time swiftie, her Folklore and Evermore albums are much more experimental in terms of melodies and chords. There's even some mixolydian chords and 5/4 time signatures, which was jarring to hear from her at first. Highly recommend a listen and would love to hear your thoughts.

I think you would be blown away by Folklore & Evermore. It’s so different from what she’s done so far. Taylor is an artist that really has different “eras” that are completely different in every way. Right now she’s in her indie/alternative era and she’s never shined brighter. Personally I wish she stays in this era for like…. ever. Haha.

'boys only want love if it's torture' - I believe that this line is filled with sarcasm, like the rest of the song. As she said, the media portrayed her as a villain and according to the media, the guys she dated were enchanted by her being that insane lover who'd eventually ruin them. But obviously that's not who Taylor was and it is not what those guys really wanted. In fact, Taylor is known for being extremely romantic and loyal and looking for peace in her love life - this is what most of her songs are about. She doesn't look for the boys who want love to be tortured nor she believes that this is what anybody would want. So this line is suposed reveal how silly the media narrative about her love life was because nobody in their right mind would want to be in a toxic relationship. Unfortunately, a lot of people still believed the media and that she dated guys for publicity (as if she needed it...). I really enjoy your reactions and your respectful honesty. You might not love a song or a chord progression but you understand why others would like it and so you look for a positive side in everything. :)

A lot of her music is about her life but she does like to create imaginary characters from time to time The alpha male from her song the man The crazy ex gf from blank space The evil man hating witch from I did something bad The unfaithful widow who lived in the 1700’s from ivy And in her album folklore she has 3 song that are related and she calls it the love triangle cuz it’s about u know a love triangle The bandit who lives a life of deceit and crime from cowboy like me The bank robber who got caught up in a love affair from getaway car The girl who turned down a marriage proposal because she’s unable to love herself in champagne problems(one of her best songs) Rebekah harkness (a real person actually) She has so many songs about imaginary characters that are so interesting with great storytelling and songwriting

Jake inspired her "best" song(at least to swifties, not in charts) and also most of the Red album. If you really want to understand what happened listen to The moment I knew and All too well. To sum it up, he forgot about her on her birthday, didn't show up to the party and was out with another girl cheating on her:(

Love your Taylor reactions. Please keep going with these. Also, it’s funny cause I feel like with Taylor it’s almost impossible to separate learning about her life from enjoying her music because it is so intertwined but that is the thing that makes her so real and relatable for a lot of people I think. She always jokes about how she is basically sharing her diaries with the world…..well and then with Lover she actually did :)

Hey! I love your videos and suscribed to your channel! Thank you for giving Taylor's music a listen, and I'm also really happy that you like her :) As a fan, I would suggest you to react to All Too Well (reputation stadium tour version)! I can't wait to watch your reaction of We are never ever getting back together from the 1989 world tour (it's the rock version but you can also watch her played it with an acoustic guitar on other videos)

Jake inspired much of the Red album, but aside from swifties joking about him stealing scarves (All Too Well) or bailing on her Birthday (The Moment I Knew), he didn't actually do anything awful. Her worst ex by far is John Mayer, who Taylor is still not as old as he was when he dated her over a decade ago (he was 32 and she was 19). One of the songs she wrote about him, Dear John is allegedly too painful to sing for her. While she pulled out basically all her discography as 'surprise' songs for her reputation tour (singing an different random old song acoustically every tour stop) and has sung old songs at the Red and 1989 tours, she hasn't sung Dear John since the end of the Speak Now tour.
@m3l1992 жыл бұрын
The older you get the more you realize just how toxic some relationships were. Crazy to think that she's just turned 32. I'm not much older than her and the idea of dating a 19 year old is just....gross. I don't mind an age gap, but there's a lot of growth between 19 and day 25ish.

Almost all the songs from RED (deluxe version) explain to you perfectly what happened to Jake. Btw, I think it would be more interesting if you (and this is just a suggestion) read to her projects as whole (one album each time) and focuses on the lyrics cuz that’s where Taylor Swift shines, and then, make separate videos with your favorite guitar things she does. @edpotter11703 жыл бұрын
the awkward thing is most of the relationships you saw on the table were true though the reasons for the breakup were either exaggerated, false or overly simplified (for example she broke up with Harry Styles because of the massive media attention). But then if you consider those relationships happened throughout over a decade, not saying it's normal, but it's not that crazy. She even took a break for years staying single to shake off her bad image, but it didn't work. So starting from 2016 she kept her current relationship with the British actor Joe Alwyn very private. Still going strong and they even wrote songs together. But yes, she did display insecurities as she wrote songs like Delicate, Peace, Renegade (rumored to be in Alwyn's perspective), and many more.

she wrote Blank Space as (another) satire of the gossip Hollywood press and its social media clones. The persona she adopted is the cartoonish "rich blonde airhead" . Celebrity gossip about sexy girls sells views, the more salacious the more they get views. And,, ad revenue. I think she uses the persona again on Reputation as the POV for more than one song; but most people seem to think she was just angry. I think she was smart enough to lampoon them while making good songs. Not sure where your preferences lie, but I think you'd probably like the sound of False God (Lover album). Don't know if it actually qualifies as blues or jazz, but there is some very nice sax on that track. She performed it live on SNL kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZunZH-ljdVghtk

I’m glad my high school and college dating life wasn’t plastered on the front page. And, hers isn’t bad! She can date who ever she wants, it’s so sexist. Jake Gyllenhall. They dated maybe 3 months age 22? He inspired her album RED. She learned that being in the spotlight by media/social media is toxic so she he has tried to stay out of the spotlight for 6 years. She’s been dating an actor for over 5 years and very private. Delicate live in Chicago- acoustic guitar Grammy performance 2021. A medley.

She Is just saying that for doing the exact same things Men are way less jugded, which is not a opinion but a fact, the double standards, sexism AND machismo in society, not only in celebrity "culture" but in the whole world. I always go back to Jennifer Aniston, Brad and Angelina. Women in the media are victims, psychos, or black widows. Two people had an affair, one was never mentioned, Angelina was the temptress homewrecker that trapped poor innocent Brad Pitt. Jennifer Aniston was the victim or the woman who couldn't satisfy her husband. No one was saying all over the place that Brad Pitt cheated on his wife with a woman most guys want to sleep with and he should learn some self control. No one was saying the truth, that if Brad wanted to sleep with you, most people into men wouldn't have thought twice of saying yes, even if they cared about Jennifer Aniston. No one questions Jake, John or Harry are victims of Taylors psycho serial dater behavior because it's always the woman's fault. Taylor had the guts to show this narrative back to them to show how ridiculous it is
