Guitarists Guide - How To Use Reverb And Delay

In today's video, I look at how to use Reverb and Delay on guitar tracks.
Reverb and delay can be a bit of a mystery, Using the right amount, setting the reverb/ delay time, high and low pass filtering, and pre-delay. In this video, I look at all the parameters that are pretty standard in reverb and delay plug-ins and use them in a track.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

Apologies for the newb question but I'm not familiar with this DAW at all. Is the delay an insert on the track and the reverb is on an aux/return? So the delay is processing into the reverb?

There are Delay and Reverb tracks in the screen capture of that DAW (I think it's Universal Audio's thingie), so it looks like neither are inserts on the guitar track. Not sure if that's the case here but what I commonly do is send a tiny amount of the delay channel to the reverb as well. So i have parallel processing involving 1. Dry guitar 2. Delay 100% wet receiving the guitar and 3. Reverb 100% wet receiving the guitar and some delay.

Probably asked this before but would you add another OX or a Boss Attenuator? The UAD forum seem to preference two OX's ( funny that :) and suggest that running the OX and Boss in tandem there could be some technical issues - none of which I claim to understand. Knowing that you have both I'd be interested in your preference? 👍

@@TheStudioRats Cheers Paul, appreciate it. I did watch a vid of both units side by side. They used a radial Headbone in-between for switching purposes. I assume I wouldn't need that for my needs? As long as I can run both amps and the Ox and Boss simultaneously 👍i'll be getting an X6 at the same time so I'll get that unit you guys suggested
