Thanks for this video. Here is a word of advice to all players. Please do not be intimidated by others. We all learn at a different pace. The objective is to enjoy the process. If you are slow at learning it will just require more patience and a lot of faith. If he can do it, you can do it. It isn't about showing off . Beauty and grace are not quantifiable qualities. Never give up. Good luck.

@@mikkelhoelgaard149 if you're referring to the 1-0-3-1 thing he's talking about what fret should be pressed on the B string for each iteration of the chord. So if you're on the C chord playing the first iteration of it you'd pick these notes: -X- -3- -2- -0- -1- (this is the fretted note that changes) -0- That C (1) note on the B string will be open (0) on the next iteration, then it will be on the 3rd fret, then back to the 1st before changing to the A minor chord. (1-0-3-1) Hope this helps, cuz I was confused for a moment too

I have been dragging my learning for years, fifty to be exact! Retired now and hardcore committed. I have picked up songs over the years, by ear mostly, a little theory here and there and some really bad habits LOL. So, for the last six months, four hours a day, most days, theory for two hours, two practice on KZbin. You have the best explanation of song tabulation so far that I’ve found. It’s funny how many guitar players are out there and their styles and even there ways of playing songs. Let me ask one thing of you. I am old school, I guess, I can follow tabs, and it’s an easy way to learn a song. Doesn’t do much for learning music though I was taught notes in school, back before computers, LOL and I have been looking at the circle of fifths and fret board navigation and theory. And believe it or not it’s sinking in, and how it all relates to guitar. When you show a cord, please explain, briefly the notes you holding, example Dust in the Wind, a C7 cord is comprised of the root C, E, G, (Bb or C). I intend to expand to reading music, I hope, but it help me locate the notes on the board and memorize positions. Hey keep up the great lessons. Dick Winn Pine Grove PA

Good lesson. I'm a professional piano player. Tried to learned this for the 1st time on guitar and following the lesson learnt the whole song and played it full speed in around 20 min. Thanks!

***** How do you know? You can't say "he sucks as a teacher" if he helps people to learn to play this song this way) Beginners are more docile when they learn to play a song this way)

Hello mister! All your videos are quite good, Your explain and play very well, very easy to learn with you. Only I'd like to make you a small suggestion, maybe in the future videos you could agree at the beginning how is going to be the song finished, I mean, the final product. Thanks a million and keep it up.

I've watched your video to go with the tablature of this song. I must say you've explained it very well. Great job! I noted the official names of the chord down for myself, per bar. Just to learn them. The only difference I see between your video and my tab is in the bar of Dm7. My tab says to pull off the 3rd string on the 2nd fret. You seem to play the 2nd string of the first fret again.

This video is very informative, clearley recorded (video and audio) and very well explained. perhapse a little too well explaned. a person isn't going to attempt to learn Dust in the Wind if they do not know what a C is.

Dear Carl, Thank you so much i learned a lot of thing from you such as muting, hyperpicking and playing solos smoothly, before you, most complicated song that i could play was zombie by Cranberries but now i can even play sanitarium by metallica easily.I also learned how to play hard songs sad but true, fade to black, nothing else matters and smells like a teen spirit and i think i will learn many more songs from you.You make playing guitar easy to learn even for beginners and upper beginners like me.May i ask you to make a tutorial video for waidmanns heill by rammstein.or maybe a tutorial for i'm broken by pantera,1000hp or i stand alone by godsmack or psychosocial by slipknot or system of a down songs like byob or chop suey or toxicity.i know these requests are too much even one of them will be enough for me thank you, Sincerely From your fan Ege From Turkey
