I was messing around with a tab book and they were throwing in a B5 and it just didnt sound right so i started playing it the way i remember hearing it with an E5 and it felt better then i just needed proof i wasnt nuts a found this. Thanks

When Kirk does it live he doesn't do that pull off climb down the neck from 12/14 - 2/3 on the high E towards the end of the solo. He plays it all up around the 12 fret on a few strings. So is Kirk just doing that now for whatever reason or is it how it should be done?
