This is the most fun Police song to play with all the different parts and no boring strumming. Good job on teaching it as well.

Sir - I"m learning tons of songs that I used to play drums to back in the 80s. I'm now a guitar player and have been for decades. In to Zappa, Metheny, Holdsworth, EJ, Steve Morse and more. Whenever I go to learn a new tune - I know I don't have to think twice when I choose you for the parts. You're no-nonsense good instruction - well done and keep it up.

i covered this song back in '88 with my college band, figuring it out from a cassette tape. it was so much fun to play i'm reviving it with my "geezer band" for a show later this summer. thanks for saving me the time and trouble of trying out the possible fingerings. your public service is duly recognized - keep up the good work!

Another splendid lesson!!! How about Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News, Carl? I know some of it, but I'm stuck on the chorus. No one has a complete lesson of it... and it's a classic song. :)

I think you need to also hold down G11 with the ring finger in the intro. And, I swear to God, half way through the intro when Sting hits the second "oooooh" of the three sung "oooohs" in the intro, Andy drops the B10 to a B9 for during the second "ooooh" and goes back to B10 on the last "ooooh". So, you need to lift up the middle finger from B10 and cover the B9 with the index finger for 4 beats of the riff when Sting sings the second "ooooh" in the intro. I swear this is how I hear it in the recording of the song. But, Andy doesn't do this when he plays this riff again leading out of the solo/break and it is played leading out of the solo just as you are showing. Let me know what you think about this slight difference?

Sounds nothing like it! The tone isn't right. Too brittle. In the opening Andy Summers does not use a pick and he is plucking the strings between the Neck and Middle Pickups. And take off that Slap Delay.
