Dieser Mann hat den Blues geknackt. Lernt man so etwas in der Musikschule ? Sein Feeling und timing ist einfach fantastisch, kann man schon Magie nennen.

As a Black blues player from Chicago currently living in Germany, I feel you really need to give credit where credit is due. This is an Elmore James tune that was covered by Albert King and then brought to prominence later by Stevie. However, it is absolutely not Stevie Ray's tune.

But these guys killed this! It’s a great song to cover. I Cover it a lot!
@khalifwailinwalter87192 ай бұрын
@@ericwatler23 None of that changes the fact that the original was Elmore James. Both can be true. It is about paying the proper respect to the people who invented this music and not the people who get all the press from it. I love Stevie and he has his place in history but he did not write a lot of the stuff he is most famous for.

@@khalifwailinwalter8719 your wrong there i think, stevie most definitely did write the stuff he was famous for. anyway whatever we think.
@khalifwailinwalter8719Ай бұрын
Stevie did write Pride & Joy and co-wrote a lot of stuff on the later CDs. But many of the songs he is most know for he did not write. Stevie was an exceptional player. Stevie was an exceptional interpreter. It doesn’t diminish him in any way but just give the credit where the credit is really due. Denying the facts is denying the history. Cold Shot was written by W.C. Clark & Michael Kindred. Mary Had a Little Lamb was written by Buddy Guy. Voodoo Chile was written by Jimi Hendrix Floodin Down In Texas was written by Larry Davis The Sky Is Cryin’ was written by Elmore James.

It’s not an “SRV cover”. The Sky Is Crying was written by Elmore James in 1959 - when ‘SRV’ was 5 years old. It’s an Elmore James cover, as was SRV’s (cover) version
@mrsayang Жыл бұрын
yes and that fits....the Les Paul played here by Henry was made in 1959. Thank you for clarifying.
