A couple days ago, I played a d13e at my local music store. The sound was very cool. I'm totally blind, so the sound of the guitar is really important to me. I play a lot of classic country like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. For me, the d13e really works well for general strumming or a little lead work. I tried it plugged into a Fishman Loudbox mini and it sounded really really good. If I had the money, I would grab this guitar and the loudbox mini amp in a second.

Very sweet and balanced tone, but to my view D-12E is the real deal of those three(10-12-13), performing clearly even in heavy strumming.

I own one. Really love it. I did hotrod it by scalloping the braces. People mistake it for a 28 and compliment the sound all the time.

I agree with what you say about Tommy Emmanuel. He has this friendly Aussie charm that makes him so likable when he is performing.

Hey, man appreciate all your content! Cool stuff. I've heard Martin guitars do not survive well in equatorial regions due to high humidity & temps. Is this true for such pricy guitars? Thank you.

Great video. Did you set the action very low on it? It sounded like it was getting a bit of buzz in the strings at times? The sounds is warm and bass like to me. I’ve just ordered one and couldn’t decide between it a D16e. Didn’t want to spend the D-28 money until I was sure I like a dreadnought body as my other guitars are 000 and GP

Sounds big bassy and woody, like a proper Martin dread.

The D-13E has tons of overtones which sustain for a good period of time. Great to hear in a Martin!!

I love the guitar's value, but I HATE the Richlite! Martin needs to drop that crap like a bad habit - I cannot stand that they cheap out on the damn fretboards and bridges. Meanwhile, Taylor is putting out ALL their models with Ebony!? Something is up - the cost cutting has gone too far at Martin unfortunately. They could have easily given this a cheaper rosewood bridge and fretboard if ebony is so much more expensive.

All Taylors in this price range have laminate sides and backs. I would rather have Richlite and all solid wood vs the laminates. I have a DC-11E Martin road series and could not tell the difference in the fretboard vs the 200 series Taylors that I tried.
