I am a metal guy but Zombie is a masterpiece of a song. One of the best "non" metal songs ever played and to be honest I was privileged enough to see the Cranberries play it live one time and it rocked as hard as any metal song. It sounds amazing as an acoustic version or with the amp turned up to 11.

This was a very well explained video. This helped me alot. I liked what you said "have fun with music." great advice. Thanks! You Rock!
@mtpstv944 жыл бұрын
You have a nice way of explaining this for newer players. I would recommend not concerning yourself to much with thinking of strumming as "I need to go Up, Down, etc" but listening to the "beat" or the "click" of the strumming in the music. It can be overly difficult to try to play thinking this way. Once you've picked up hearing this by ear, it will come completely natural and you will never need to think. You'll just do it. Really have to trust your instinct and be confident with what your wrist is telling you. That's where everything will come together. One big mistake I see a lot of people making is that they play every stroke with every string included in the chord from the top to bottom and that's a mistake. The first 1-2 strokes might only be the top or bottom 2 strings and the 3rd stroke might be the top or bottom 4 or all 6. Most of the time you'll never play a song strumming all the way through every string. This is what makes the song sound interesting.

I would recommend practice on your own scales, chords and just play and play, after that songs like this will be super easy and fun to learn when you comfortable playing. Of course you should practice whatever you like. But I had a hard to stick to some songs and just improvised. Learned a lot then didn't play for a while then forgot all the solos everything had to relearn then it happened again. Now I'm going to learn more songs like this easier to remember and then easier to stick to playing because you don't feel you have to start over if you don't play for a month or 2.

Watching the falling raindrops and appreciating your video, I can feel how wonderful your video is. I am walking alone on the street where nostalgia is accumulating. The street lights are so cold. I am not alone while watching your videos, even if I am standing in a windy field. Even after a long time passes, I will always remember your video in my heart. It feels like the KZbin world is running into a rough field. I think I met your video at the end of that hill where a rainbow brighter than jewels lives. The moment I watched your video, the first feeling was very good. I think you will be happy in the morning because of your video today. After watching your video, thinking about it now, your video came to the depths of my heart and instilled emotion and happiness in me. As you have worked hard for your dreams, I hope that your channel will gradually develop and become a very big channel. As the algorithm introduced, I just looked down and saw your video. KZbin seems to be a backpacking trip and a long-distance marathon going far and far alone. I am so happy to have met your videos while I was living on KZbin.

Was just checking out how others might play this and I play it with the melody out of the chord positions, but LOVE when you said "Don't worry so much about playing it exact"...first off, it is much more difficult to play it exact and it doesn't mean it will sound better. I always tell people, we all have our own picking style, and I have a tough time matching James Taylor's picking exact, and NOT because he is much better than I am (which he is), but MORE, because it is NOT my style, and HE would have just as much trouble trying to match mine exact. And also, knowing a few people in the business, they are NOT impressed by hearing someone do the "Jukebox" version of their songs. They DO go to youtube, and like it much better if someone puts a different spin and feel on their tunes. Thanks for the great video!!!
@taxisteve9295 жыл бұрын
Btw, anyone having trouble playing the D/F#.....I know several great players who DON'T play the whole thing. If you can't get your fingers all set up and down clean, or can't use your thumb on the low E, just play 20023x or 2x023x depending on which fingers you use to either mute the A string or both A and high E. Generally, people will play it with the index finger on the 2nd fret of low E, middle finger on 2nd fret of D, and ring finger on 3rd fret of B string, BUT I have also played it with middle finger on 2nd fret of low E, ring on 2nd fret of B and pinky on 3rd fret of B. If still having problems, try playing the bass finger and D string fingers first and by the time you get to the B string, you will have your other finger down for a clean sound, whichever form you use. Plus if you are picking, you are probably coming down with the thumb and back up with your index or middle finger when picking. But no matter what, just have fun!!! And remember, everything takes practice!!! So drive everyone else in the house a little nuts and keep going until you have it clean and right in your head!!! (In your head!!!).....and you will feel a sense of accomplishment to get it the way you want~~~!!!

Hey Steve! Cool and easy - did not believe that it is that easy! Normally I have problems to play and sing at the same time, but with this song it works. Wow what should I say? I am learning guitar by myself just with You Tube tutorials. And this is one of the best tutorials ever! I like your way how to play...with regular chords or with easier chords. Especially for beginners very interesting. It would be very nice, when you share your strumming pattern on the screen with arrows. I like the regular chords and thanks for the finger style part! Very nice! Clicked on "like" and "follow". Thanks again and greetings from Germany!
