Thank you for your insights. I didn't even know there is a dedicated bebop scale. I've already learned so much from you. Fat thumbs up 😁

There are actually a couple of different Bebop scales. Each one has a different eighth note (the chromatic).

Great lesson, Sandy! That octave replacement thing is so cool. I guess I can use that for other scales, licks too?
@GuitarversumSandraSherman11 ай бұрын
Of course! It's particularly useful for arpeggios.

@@GuitarversumSandraSherman thanks! It helped me a lot and I`m trying to use octave displament on all arpeggios now. sounds so much better!!!

It took me a while to realize just how well your lessons are organized and how helpful your focused explanations help us to focus in turn . No distracting or annoying production gimmicks or insincere sales talk. You make great content available for free, but the material from your shop at a fair price is also a big help. Many thanks.

Gooood stuff👍😁. There’s that important octave displacement again! I’m always amazed at how the timing of phrases can make lines work (or, not). Nice one, Sandra! I was “like” number 100 today😁…. You’re killin’ it🙌

Very Cool! So much to grove with. Grüss Franz Lehars Gasse für mich! (Teater an der Wien). Danke Schatzi. I will try to apply this to Bach!

You apply this to Bach? I'm interested in how that sounds 😊
@StephiSensei2610 ай бұрын
Well, I try to make it "swing" more. HIs music, as everyone is aware, lends itself very well to a "Jazzy" touch. The music of Django and Bach have, in my mind, many things n common. Many people see Bach as very "Strict and Disciplined", and of course, if you really want to learn his music, YOU must be disciplined to achieve that. However, his facility was so free and creative, especially in his "Art of the Fuge", that I believe there is a great deal of room to explore the "ad libitum" aspect of his music. And, as you know, that's where the improvisation of Jazz comes in! I believe you must have a very high level of Music education, Conservatoire perhaps? Well, either way, I value your lessons, suggestions and insights very much. I wish I could donate something, but I cannot at this time. Thank you very much for broadening my knowledge of the subject. The language of Jazz / Rhythm / Blues is new to me, I didn't learn it that way, but I'm beginning to understand the dialect. Thank you Sandra. Servus!@@GuitarversumSandraSherman

How is A the next nearest scale tone to C? I'm not disagreeing at all...I'm just confused (2:14 mark of video)
@GuitarversumSandraSherman3 ай бұрын
It's next to B, not C. I just played the Cmaj7 arp up until the B (CEGB) and then go to the next scale tone, which is either C or A.
