Thanks for the kind words. My favorite style to play is fingerstyle blues. My #1 guitar is my black Crook T-style w/ the TV Jones in the neck. I don't play out anymore... though I'd like to if I could find the right setup :)

Very nice pickin'. I ordered the Kingpin II cutaway with two P-90's, also in cognac burst. Scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Can't wait. Nice job Mojo!

Thanks! As for your question, frankly you can't go wrong either way between those two, so I'd say play both and decide which ones feels the best for you.

Great review - you didn't talk too much, you played a variety of music and displayed the attributes of the guitar while doing so. It was great that you went all over the neck in the review as well. I'm probably gonna get the Kingpin version of it.

The neck sounds perfect for us folks with small hands. I have friend with a 1938 Epiphone Triumph, and this guitar sounds very similar. Great review. Thanks for posting it.

What a great sound. I'll bet that would do quite nicely for home studio recording. For the price I'm wondering if the neck will hold up. Cheers

Love your pickin man...you've helped my playing so much..up until this Christmas all i had to play were a couple of acoustic guitars, but now have my first electric guitar and everything has changed ...must say I'm really not very good, know a few chords, and plunk away at it when i have a few moments (which never seems to be often enough)...but with the new guitar, and you as a little inspiration....it's amazing what a little practice will do..look forward to your future videos...thank you.

Hey mojo, sending my respects to you on the well informative video. I wasn't quite sure on the the 5th Avenue, but was leaning towards it. After watching this video made it certain I should grab this guitar. Not one regret. Cheers** on the guitar playing.

I'm really diggin' on this guitar. I have really been wanting to a jazz/blues box to unwind with. I think this would fit the bill. I could tell that there is a lot of bass loss on the top E vs. a dreadgnauts E or A. That's something I can definitely live with though. Thanks for sharing.

I think you are a very good player. You have a lot of patience in explaining what you are doing, and have taken a lot of time to translate songs for everyday players to play. Your efforts are appreciated, keep up the great work. Ignore the haters. I like the guitar. I have a Seagul and an Art and Luthrie made by Godin. I love them both, especially my Seagul. Very nice to play. Are you from Canada?

I wanted to get the full acoustic but it was sold out, so I came home with the kingpin. I plugged it into my Mesa Boogie, and now I'm glad it's a kingpin. :-) But, since I'm really going for the Gypsy Swing style right now I'm playing it just acoustic afterall. Anyway, great guitar. I like the finish on yours, my kingpin is the all black one, too bad, but it was the last one they had in stock.

Thanks. I have never taken a guitar lesson in my life, but I would like to try. The issue is that when I play - usually between 2300 and 0200 hrs - most teachers are asleep ;)

man..i started watching your videos...you're a DAMN great player...and your opinion matters to me (since i'm a beginner guitar player)- i just wanted to ask...if you have a chance to get the Martin Xc1t or Taylor 114CE...what would you get? i'm torn between those 2 guitars...and i would very much value your opinion. thanks man.

Have I understood this correctly? The Godin 5th Avenue is just acoustic with no mics? The kingpin is with 1 p-90-picup and kingpin II is with 2 p-90 picups? So you can't play a normal 5th ave through a speaker?

Good review, have you tried the Gretsch archtop 100CE? on that music you played Bm, D, GMaj7 omit3 you should try starting the Bm with fingers 1,2 & 4 instead of 3 then you dont loose sustain in the chord change.
@MrBallynally29 жыл бұрын
This guitar deserves a floating pickup like the deArmond rhythm chief. I do prefer those over the P90 kingpin. Retains more of the acoustic properties of the guitar, me thinks..

If you consult your KZbin User Rule Book you will see on page 143, section 4, that a Guitar Review Video gains four points of overall credibility when conducted indoors, eight points if conducted while wearing a cowboy hat. HOWEVER, when a cowboy hat is worn indoors, the combined credibility qualifier is multiplied for a total of 20 points.
@MrWadestar15 жыл бұрын
Yes he should have just bought the King Pin if he wanted a pick up in it.
