It's crazy how good Ding is at bouncing back from a loss especially in a world championship match with all the extra pressure

Ding vs Gukesh sounds like a battle between two onomatopoeias
@ChrisHyde53719 күн бұрын
That reminds me of an old and now inappropriate joke from years ago. When a child is born in China, the parents throw a handful of silverware against the wall and whatever the sound made is what they name their child. Got nothing for Gukesh at this time but I’ll work on it in the name of equity.

@9:01 It looks like Ding went home after the loss yesterday to watch Aman's 100 grandmaster tips episode 8 strategy, he even completes the setup with the Ng1 move at 16:42. Truly a habitsbrah

Aman, thank you for these recaps! I know these videos don't get as many views as your regular ones, but those of us who watch them really do appreciate them. At the start of the match, I watched through the recaps from all 5 of my chess channel subscriptions that were doing them (you, Levy, Agad, Jerry/Chessnetwork, and TakeTakeTake) to give them all a fair shot and see who was doing the best coverage. In the end, I came to the conclusion that yours were by far the best watch, with Jerry at a close second, so thanks again for all the informative content you've been making for us from these recaps to the GM tips and everything in between.

Love watching you analyze the games aman. It’s also nice not having the analysis bar and engine lines visible. Makes you work harder to understand the positions.

Ding said that he did not see Na7 during the game.😮 (But he apparently saw the way how to crush the opponent)

Plebs up to GMs will go up the exchange. Super GMs and world champs will win a center pawn instead and crush you positionally. This is art. Thanks for the recap, Brah.

He used habits and wooon 😂 develop castle and rooks to the middle
@RG00110019 күн бұрын
Ooof. Yesterday, there was so much pressure that Ding just collapsed with a 1 move blunder. Today, the game was quite crushing.

I guess probably next game is Ding's another wins and it's over (but probably he will prolonged the game to tiebreaks so he could continue to enjoy exploring Singaporean foods)

This analysis is so good! I love how you don't spoil the results. I've been thoroughly enjoying following the WCC via this channel. Thanks, Aman!

@24:24 can someone explain the rook sac at the end of the game? Aman says after Qe7x white can take the black rook, but wtf can’t the black rook just move down and block the damn check? What am I missing?!
@yingyao522219 күн бұрын
You are missing if rook moves down to block then the d7 pawn can promote

my favorite move of the match is kh2 theres a touch of genius behind it guarding the h-pawn and freeing g1 square to become a safe square/launch pad for the king's knight later in the game. unbelievable stuff
@wsleppy469918 күн бұрын
I play a lot of English and Catalan and do the same maneuver a lot. Opponents really struggle to crack it because the typical patterns they use against a fianchetto don't work. I was quite happy to see a Super GM do it 😂. I'm only 1350

Aman, I know it's a totally different element and levels beyond a noob casual, but I think you will smile: I recognized a lot of similarities in dings position from your Kings Indian teachings from years ago. Tucking the bishop and king because of the nasty threat; I just recognized what you were teaching g and had a cool ah-ha moment.
