Gulf Breeze Zoo Full Tour - Navarre, Florida

The Gulf Breeze Zoo (originally The Zoo Northwest Florida) is a 50-acre (20 ha) zoo located in Navarre, Florida. It has over 900 exotic animals including rhinos, hippos, Western lowland gorillas, and orangutans that visitors can view during an African preserve train ride. Activities include hand-feeding of some animals including giraffes. The Gulf Breeze Zoo supports captive breeding, wildlife conservation, and habitat preservation programs.
Exhibits:
The Gulf Breeze Zoo is divided into 20 acres of walking exhibits and a 30 acres free roaming preserve area that guests take a guided train ride through. The walking portion includes many animals including primates, lions, tigers, marsupials, bears, tortoises, and a large variety of exotic birds such as peacocks, owls, macaws, rhea, emu, ostriches, toucans, flamingos and storks.
The Zoo has several interactive feeding areas including a large petting area, a giraffe feeding area, and a walk-through parakeet enclosure. Other highlighted exhibits throughout the park include warthogs, otters, alligators, and camels. Primate exhibits include lemurs, gibbons, guenons, siamangs, golden headed lion tamarins, spider monkeys, squirrel monkeys, Western lowland gorillas, and orangutans. Activities include feeding some animals including giraffes and American alligators, as well as a free-flight Australian parakeet aviary.
Another unique area of the walking portion of the Zoo includes a large raised boardwalk that allows visitors to see herds of deer, antelope, capybara, kudu, Southern White rhino and the Orangutan Island.
A C.P. Huntington locomotive train takes visitors on a 20-minute guided tour, where they can see many different types of deer, antelope, zebras, and white rhinos roaming on 30 acres and get a close view of the gorillas and Nile hippos.

Brace yourself Tom, this is going to be one of my longer comments, I do hope you read through! Firstly: awesome video Tom! I loved the habitats and animals, I think my favourite was the train ride, hippos and alligators, as a Canadian I don’t see gators very often, though I know it’s the complete opposite with you Tom! You probably drive to work and see gators! What is the biggest gator you have personally seen Tom? Wild or captive! That tube to feed the camels was pretty cool! They had some nice colours! The pond with the waterfowl was pretty cool! I enjoy seeing the waterfowl! This might sound silly Tom but every time you say: Hey everybody, Tom here for Tom’s Road Trippin! I’m like good to see you Tom! I know I’ve told you before Tom but you are my favourite KZbinr but you should know that being my favourite KZbinr is a hard position to be placed at: I follow a crocodile channel, reptile channels, tarantula channels, general animal channels ( I follow 28 KZbin channels including you Tom, all animal related)! Thanks for the continued support Noah, it means a lot. While I do see an occasional alligator near a pond they aren't quite all over the place. Pretty much any fresh water might have a few alligators in it. I was excited to see the tiger cubs out, they were certainly showing off for the people 😆 I use CyberLink Power Director Professional to edit my video files. It takes several days to edit all the files into a complete video. I usually upload the files over night while I'm sleeping. We have a sulcata tortoise named Sheldon. He's around 6 years old now, we've had him since he was a baby. He weighs around 60 pound's now. He still has lots of growing to do. Thanks for the comment and for your high praise of my channel. I am trying to keep it entertaining and informative. I hope this year gets better with regards to the situation. So many places I want to go to, just needs to be safe.

The addax were only seen on the train ride 1:01:10 the porcupine wasn't available the day I was there. Signage on the habitat said it was at the veterinary hospital. I had to cut that out of the video to help shorten it down.

That's surprising... When you show the paper map, the zoo didn't look big. yet you show alots of animals and good fun in there :O that's very surprising. I love how the chamel look at you with the starring face XD waiting for food like "come on! send it!" I think some habitats are not very good at beginning, kind of maybe a bit too small for animals (like snow leopard) and some birds cage seems too small too considering how big the birds are. But in general, it's a nice zoo. Wow very loved the two cute baby tigers at the end :O they are soo cute. It's the very first time i see a baby tiger white :O

It has very natural habitats, really feels like your in the wilderness of Florida. Cypress trees and swampland in parts.

As a giraffe ages they get dark. The Giraffe tongue is dark to prevent it from getting sun burn. As they stick it out to eat. The back part is pink. There long tongue and neck help them grab on and pull the leaves off the Acacia tree, making them herbivores.

Why would people want to afford this. $23 bucks to get in? $18 for a child? Are you kidding me? I've lived in Pensacola for almost 10 years and I've never been to this zoo because of the absorbent prices and they continue to rise. Granted that what they charge goes for a good cause but honestly, it's just to employ people so that they can show the animals.

The majority of the entrance fee goes towards animal care. Food and upkeep plus employees paycheck. The entrance fee is higher than a lot if similarly sized zoo's though.
