I’m assuming those jets at the opening were supposed to be either representatives of something like a marine Corps carrier. But obviously they don’t look anything like that. I assume that the reason they made up those fake jets is for whatever reason the developer wasn’t allowed to use an actual model of something like say an A-10. But you can definitely tell that whatever those jets are supposed to be they are definitely a amalgamation of various aircraft. From the front concerning the cockpit and the wing design, they look like again the Harrier jump jet. The engine layout resembles that of the British electric lightning two. And I will say this I find it very unusual that a jet with an engine layout of over and under. It wouldn’t have engine intakes that were side-by-side. It would likely have a single large intake under the cockpit. Also, I know it looks cool and all that stuff, but in reality, a fighter jet would never fly, intentionally through a smoke cloud. Because it would disrupt the airflow into the engines and cause them to lose power. And this can and has resulted in the aircraft crashing. Also, I don’t know why, but as the years have gone by, I’ve noticed that lesson less of the call of duty games are really focusing on feeling like you’re actually part of an army. Most call of duty games now have you as part of a small tier, one team usually. And that’s another thing. In so many of the current call of duty games, the player characters either part of some tier one operator team, such as US armies, Delta force, the Rangers, marine, force, recon, navy seals, or something like that. Or if your character is not an American they often times members of the British SAS. And well that’s cool and all I find it kind of irritating because I remember back in the days of the first call of duty game specifically the ones that were only on PC where you actually played as just a regular grunt. You were nothing special. Yes, in the first game when you played as the British, you were part of the parachute regiment, which I guess you could refer to as a special forces unit. But overall, you were basically just a nameless grunt who was just part of the conflict.

The A-7 had afterburing engines, it just didn't have a rounded nose with split intakes. The used about 80 of the A-7's airframe(central body, wings, elevators, vertical stabilizer, and exhaust) and slapped the nose of the A-6 on it to make that monstrosity.
@GoldPicard2 ай бұрын
I stand corrected, upon further review they did give this fugly monster the tailpipes from the English Electric Lightning. So yeah you have three birds in one airframe..... What in the name of all things holy have they done?
@chocolat-kun86892 ай бұрын
@@GoldPicard The F8 Vought was the one with the afterburner. Kinda weird why they did not just use the Strike Eagle for airstrikes. Or the A10 which saw extensive use.

@@chocolat-kun8689 The F-8 and A-7 are two birds I still get swapped around in my head, they are visually very similar and mechanically similar as well with just a few key differences like that afterburner and the moving wing on the A-7.

Idk what this is but it isn’t Call of Duty…. This is why cold war rubbed me the wrong way - It’s more like a “netflix original” ass version of Call of Duty.
@Metallimad06Ай бұрын
I loved Cold War personally despite being cut short due to pandemic. Sam Worthington legit couldn't come back due to schedule and James Burns had legal contract issues over during va for a fangame (16 year old cod fans mad about the cast changing dont know what those things are), BO6 felt like a big missed opportunity, i wanted a game that had all the cool wars and battles from 1991-2003 (the series has always been horribly innacurate, but as long as its fun it doesnt matter). Moments I liked alot from this one (such as the Clinton mission) and you could see Raven doing something cool but studio interference made it kinda Warzoneish/MW reboot ish and odd.
@DryMonster100Ай бұрын
@ i felt the way about playing cold war that you do about bo6 so you can imagine how disgusted i was from the very first glimpes at bo6. Probably not gonna buy another cod again as I don’t see anything changing for the better in the entire industry

One of the main issues with modern day COD is that there’s this over emphasis on character, and not enough on doing what COD was made for, paying homage to real life conflict. Where did the days of feeling like an actual grunt on the battlefield go? Of being almost indistinguishable from NPCs that look like uniformed soldiers, not special ops. It just doesn’t feel real or meaningful anymore. Maybe there was a time for more story based games, with more prevalent, unique characters, but today COD can’t do it like they used to. World at War is the standard when it comes to war games. They got the balance between main characters and army perfectly.

When BO1 had few missions set in Vietnam, everyone sleeps. Now with BO6 having a few missions set in the Gulf War yet serves the wider narrative like how BO1 did with Vietnam (and BO2 with Just Cause), everyone goes batshit crazy over why it has few missions. I don't understand. Plus the Gulf War was over in 100 hours anyway, there's little to no room for actual infantry assaults like 1968. The "Hunting Season" mission though was good.
@AFGuidesHD2 ай бұрын
because those missions were proper militaristic and thematic. Going in the rat tunnels, fighting vietcong, the boat mission, going into Laos, the battle of hue city and so on.
