It means “Spun In gold”. Faroe Islands is a self-governing part of Denmark, like Greenland . They stayed in the union with Denmark when Norway left and become a independent state in 1814. And yes, Eivør is fantastic!

Hi Ginger, Hi Mike... I saw Eivor live in Cologne last Friday... and it was MAGICAL ! Gullspunnin (which translates to "spun in gold") is one of my favourite Eivor songs, especially THIS version here. Thanks for reacting to Eivor again... I enjoyed every moment of this reaction video. Best wishes : Gerry

When I saw the current take you on the calm sea, I lost myself at the core of the silence. Tied to my flesh is the longing, tangled in my mind the expectation. Spun in gold my whole dim soul, glittering alone. If you come back home, make a call on me. Wide open my heart's door, a room for you. Tied to my flesh is the longing, tangled in my mind the expectation. Spun in gold my whole dim soul, glittering alone. I saw the current take you on the calm sea, I lost myself at the core of the silence. If you do return, make a call on me, I wait for you, glittering alone.

@@MikeandGinger thank you, ginger! when i first listened to courage i had to look twice to realize it's really her, because it is so different from what she usually does. and i never thought that the nobel prize commitee would pick her, the princess of doom. kzbin.info/www/bejne/omPdaIGGhKqFjM0&start_radio=1 the other song "funeral for my future childen" is recorded in a church in new york, where she plays an pipe organ. the title shows you that you can expect something unique. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ame2iKWui8x4otE this here is the same song but on a live performance together with her band. she sounds very different, wild and angry and just so good! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3zah5Jti5pgo5Y
