2014 Maserati Quattroporte - V8 Sport Exhaust Sound!

In this video you can see the brand new 2014 Maserati Quattroporte V8 Sport. I have seen this brand new Maserati during a Cars and Coffee meeting in The Netherlands. You can hear the lovely V8 sound. Yes ,it's roomier ,yes ,the styling is better than I expected ,yes ,the noise is better than I expected (I don't trust turbos noise-wise) ,but I would still have the old Quattroporte !

Well, I suppose you can't blame Maserati it's intended as a world car, to boost sales significantly as much as a five fold increase! whereas the predecessor was maybe too Italian, and didn't sell enough. Sometimes it pays to follow the German example, and become just an engineered no-nonsense car without being over nationalistic looking. Look at Luxury cars like Citroen, Saab, Rolls-Royce etc...were never big sellers like the Germans.

Andre Rix rolls Royce doesn’t sell a lot because they are too expensive for 99.999999999.....% of people. Rolls Royces and other ultra executives manufacturers like Bentley, Aston Martin and Maserati aren’t big sellers in the car industry. Rolls Royce for exemple sales cars to really specifics owners likes celebrities, pdg and others ultra rich people, not to everyone. Saab and Citroën didn’t sells because they are ugly. You just don’t understand the luxury car market. Have a good day.

In my opinion it's too bulky, too massive in size. The back looks a bit feminine and soft, not what you'd want from a Maserati. The front is overdone, they tried to make it look agressive, instead it ended up looking mangled up. The sound isn't what it used to be. It sounds deep, but not agressive enough. Not like it's older brothers.

This for me, is the most desirable best-looking luxury saloon with the added bonus, selling factor of "exclusivity" which you can't get with it's rivals, except maybe the Porsche Panamera. Next on my shortlist would be the BMW 6 Series GranCoupe, Mercedes CLS.

I'm very disappointed from this new Quattroporte. The front is ok, but the back looks like a Citroen or one of this new ugly Audi's. Can't undestand why they choose this horrible design. Hope they will not aswell destroy the Gran Turismo with this new designer :(

Have you seen the mid 90s Quattroporte, it was ugly as sin. This is actually pretty good imo. Not as good as the previous one, but not quite as bad as you suggest.

That's how all executive luxury sedans are, there just supposed to be underststed, not over the top. As for the interior, there are many different color combinations you choose, and the thing about italian luxury is that it's all about simplicity and not being a cluttered mess that German cars are known for. It's performance (530hp/530lbft 191mph), Ferrari V8, light weight materials (700lbs lighter than it's competitors is enough to justify it's price. Still cheaper than a flying spur.
