The reason why Anais isn’t there for being a girl, is 1) sexism in China prioritizing boys over girls to carry over the family name. 2) a population limit to have only 2 kids (like Americas “Nuclear family” back in the day), so Darwin and Gumballs doppelgänger is kept, but the youngest kid is gone.

Okay so there are two reasons the copycat family didn’t have a daughter. 1. As there from a real Chinese knockoff the show only had two kids to abide by the two children law. 2. Let’s see here… China made a direct, shameless copy series of Gumball called Miracle Star, to which Cartoon Network tried to copyright claim. However, the American government didn’t want to get involved with the clusterf*** that is the Chinese government, let alone something as trivial as non-political cartoons. As a result, Cartoon Network took the matter into their own hands and it’s amazing!😂 At the time, China had a 2-child policy that has since been increased slightly.
