That alternate ending is from the 'sister' episode "Lost and Found", and it does exist with the original soundtrack.

It was likely a deleted scene, and I believe this was used right before the dump truck tipped over the mirror Gumby was in.

Actually, that alternate ending got used when "Mirrorland" was split up into two 6-minute shorts in the early 1960s, in the "Lost and Found" half. I suspect the editors found they still had that unused footage and decided to work it into the "Lost and Found" version. For the recent remastered version that re-edits them back into their original 11-minute length, they used the "I got it!" ending because that's what was always used in the finished original version. (And I will admit, I do kind of like it better, with the way Gumby triumphantly says "I got it!")
