I love looking beautifully decorated cakes but it's sad how much time you guys put into stuff for people to come along and gobble it up. I could not do it. That's a lot of work for a flower; How much do you charge for them? It is beautiful.

It's definitely a labor of love to make cakes in general, let alone sugar flowers! But, I get a lot of satisfaction from creating something beautiful from scratch. This is actually a pretty quick flower to make in comparison to some. I charge for the time it takes to create a cake, so sugar flowers are priced differently based on the time involved in creating one. A flower like this poppy would probably be $5 or $8 each, depending on if I was making a bunch and could do them production line style. When pricing a cake, I consider the time involved int he overall design, including the sugar flowers and the cost of ingredients and supplies.
