I hope people don't think what spring bloom said was insulting to Mr. Lovell. No matter who you are, building/room clearing is a dangerous task. You are trying to make the best of a bad situation. Even with the best tactics things don't always go right. Especially doing this as a single person. As he said, this is why body armor is your best friend, ie Michelin man. It is good to see someone is trying to tackle the immense difficulties of single person clearing. I would definitely be interested to take his course and see how Mr. Lovell tackles some of these issues. If he reads some of his comments, thanks for not being afraid to be a Strong Christian. We need more people like you.

Yes I get shot. Sometimes it’s because I’m playing the role of bad guy (and so it will always mean dying, as it’s the role). When I’m ‘game on’, I die significantly less than the students. I’m good at this stuff. That’s why they’re bothering to learn it. This is high stakes chess.

Also to any patrol cop who listened to the end of the video, and heard John mention most buildings are cleared by lone patrol cops. PLEASE if you get in that situation and have the opportunity to wait for cover do so. Nothing worse than doing somthing a million times until it becomes routine, like clearing homes when get a burglar alarm calls by yourself then one day see a set of eyes looking back as you open that closet door. Talk an oh shit momen! Wait for cover whenever possible, nobody needs to be a cowboy. Go home at the end of your watch, and hug your wife and kids!

@3:34 Would it be a good or bad move to pop your face around the corner for a fraction of a second? A lighting fast peek? Curious in general and also as a hindsight 20/20 response assuming it paid off then you could have pointed your gun around the corner and blind sprayed that section of the room? Or is that frowned upon ?
@davidm63875 жыл бұрын
The problem with a "lightning fast peek" and any kind of flagging is once the bad guy knows where you are he can just blast straight through the wall and you're fucked. Interior walls don't stop anything, you can even punch your fist through them.The general rule is that Bad Guys get to "blind spray" while Good Guys don't. The only lawful reason to shoot someone is to stop their actions, and only very accurate shots accomplish that quickly.

Crap or get off the pot. Switching shoulders. Penetrating the room. Rolling on that trigger like a fire breathing dragon. That’ll get them to old age in such a dangerous job.
