Man, John- Really, really eye opening demonstration. I shot "action pistol" at a range in Bristol Wisconsin a looong time ago. I remember what a revelation it was to realise you shoot, shoot, shoot the pepper poppers rather than shoot/check for effect/ shoot etc... Such a simple lesson but really amazing to an amateur like myself. Individual skill. All things being equal, AIWB will always be faster.
@000Bob000jones0005 жыл бұрын
@@champy1210 Yes (it is individual skill) and maybe (AIWB might be faster). With experience drawing from an OWB holster, anything in the same position will be faster. I've never seen (nor do I ever expect to see) someone with the same amount of experience with each test this. You could argue that AIWB would be faster based on hand position, but then that changes based on the situation and person.
@champy12105 жыл бұрын
000Bob000jones000 Considering biomechanics, clearing garment(s), angle of dominant hand to holstered pistol during draw, maybe even distance of presentation based on location of holster (?), the AIWB will beat any other IWB set-up in speed. (This is assuming the shooter’s body type agrees with the holster set-up.) OWB concealed with outer garment-I’d still go AIWB. Interesting comparison, no doubt. I’m sure there are some quality comparison videos out there.

Excellent video my friend! Both educational and informative regarding situational awareness and what your body does when the "lizard brain" kicks in. Might I also recommend teaching lateral movement when opening distance. In all instances, they both moved pretty much linearly either towards or away from each other. Sideways movement forces attacker to adjust aim, and in many cases the better marksman will win with that. Just the way we trained as well. Thanks again and keep the vids coming.
