Awesome stuff. The biggest thing I noticed is that neither one ever got off the X. They just moved in a line. Moving left or right can make a lot of difference. That’s why force on force is so great. It shows you what you will do under stress. And where you can improve.

Man, John- Really, really eye opening demonstration. I shot "action pistol" at a range in Bristol Wisconsin a looong time ago. I remember what a revelation it was to realise you shoot, shoot, shoot the pepper poppers rather than shoot/check for effect/ shoot etc... Such a simple lesson but really amazing to an amateur like myself. This video struck me as the same type of revealing demonstration- so much that I would never have thought of myself without actually doing the exercise myself. Thanks to all three of you for the time and effort spent to bring this to us!

Fantastic content as always! Fascinating to see Eric fire off 8 shots on the one bout. Really makes me consider mag capacity, especially living in country where only one firearm can be licensed for self defense. In South Africa, it is very common to have 3 - 8 attackers most of them armed. Single stack sub compacts won't get one too far if the evidence in this video is to go by...

@000Bob000jones000
@000Bob000jones000 5 жыл бұрын
@@champy1210 Yes (it is individual skill) and maybe (AIWB might be faster). With experience drawing from an OWB holster, anything in the same position will be faster. I've never seen (nor do I ever expect to see) someone with the same amount of experience with each test this. You could argue that AIWB would be faster based on hand position, but then that changes based on the situation and person.
@champy1210
@champy1210 5 жыл бұрын
000Bob000jones000 Considering biomechanics, clearing garment(s), angle of dominant hand to holstered pistol during draw, maybe even distance of presentation based on location of holster (?), the AIWB will beat any other IWB set-up in speed. (This is assuming the shooter’s body type agrees with the holster set-up.) OWB concealed with outer garment-I’d still go AIWB. Interesting comparison, no doubt. I’m sure there are some quality comparison videos out there.

Excellent video my friend! Both educational and informative regarding situational awareness and what your body does when the "lizard brain" kicks in. Might I also recommend teaching lateral movement when opening distance. In all instances, they both moved pretty much linearly either towards or away from each other. Sideways movement forces attacker to adjust aim, and in many cases the better marksman will win with that. Just the way we trained as well. Thanks again and keep the vids coming.
