When I heard Barry talk about the new generation being our future and saying "people like me, we won't be around much longer" fucking was like stabbing me in the heart.
@Beer-can_full_of_toes Жыл бұрын
I was feeling the same way. He was like a father figure to so many and it’s almost as if people that didn’t believe he wouldn’t be around forever he went ahead and died on us so we would have to figure out how to go on and carry his message to others. I feel like Barry would be a huge voice in the world of firearms and common sense in general but we couldn’t rely on him for it all. That’s why he was called home. So we can continue his work in his honor.

My parents both grew up around guns, and both saw what could happen if someone in your family doesn't have common sense or training. My dad served in Okinawa during Vietnam when he was 17/18, constantly carried a Colt 1911 and sometimes a M16 rifle until his discharge around age 22 or so. After that, he owned several guns ranging from Sako bolt actions to 357 magnums. He was surrounded by them for 45 years or so and was advidly into concealed carry. After that, he became so anti gun, he believes that no one should have a CCL, shotguns and pistols only belong inside the house, and rifles are only for hunting. He's now 64 and has yet to teach me (a 17 year old) how to shoot, much less get me near a gun. We live in Texas, and my parents decided to raise me in the most gun friendly state in the south, yet don't even mention these words: hunting, rifle, concealed carry, open carry, gun control, or anything having to do with gun accidents within the family (before I was born) or my dad's military service. Hopefully, your videos would help them out a little bit, and thank you for the gun education my parents didn't give me so far.

The media talks about body armor like someone cannot be hurt with body armor on. I got shot with a single bullet wearing body armor, it broke two ribs. The bullet didn't penetrate the plate, but it knocked the wind out of me and put me too the ground, and I had two cracked ribs. Even with body armor on, the person will still feel the shot. Depending on the caliber and gun, you can knock someone down with a single shot to the chest even with body armor on.

Something that really gets to me, is when news announcers talk about "high-powered" assault rifles. Of course, they're referring to semi-auto versions of assault rifles. But, whether semi-auto, or selective fire, an "assault rifle" is, by definition, NOT "high-powered." It fires a cartridge that falls midway in power, between that of a pistol round, and a full-powered rifle round.

SS109 cartridge (standard AR15 round): 0.416oz 30 round PMAG: 6.08oz every full PMAG is then: 6.08 + (30 * 0.416) = 18.56oz 1 pound is 16oz, so that's a bit over a pound. 6 full PMAGs, standard combat load, is 111.36oz = 6.96lbs .. just about 7 pounds of only ammo. 7000 rounds is a little more than 38 times that, right around 266 pounds. Beyond weight though, it becomes hard to simply transport that many mags. You could load them into boxes on a hand truck, but it is unlikely you could load them fast enough to be useful. Personally, I'd say the maximum number of PMAGs you could carry in a configuration that would allow to reload quickly enough to bd effective would be about 20. You would simply run out of space to carry them.

I love how you brought up Wal-Mart and that they were continuing to sell those items the government had tried to make taboo. I recall when I purchased my first gun (a .22 savage arms bolt action rifle), while i bought it from Wal-Mart I purchased my ammo later at K-mart. In doing so I learned a strange thing about the now defunct K-mart. This was sometime in the late 90's. When I asked about a box of .22 lr they asked is it for rifle or handgun. I told them rifle and asked why they were asking. Apparently after a shooting on the news (it might have been Columbine or one after it, not for sure) K-mart had made a policy of not selling handgun ammo. I think i even glanced at the shelves and noticed it appeared to be only .22, shotgun gun shells and strictly rifle ammo. I know there are rifles chambered for handgun rounds, like .44, .45 and .357 magnum, but apparently they refused to carry any ammo useable in rifle and handgun bigger than .22lr. The ideas people can get in the name of keeping people safe and preventing a possible shooting can be so nuts and lacking in logic or proper information.

I hope you will never end up like us here in Austria: I am licensed to own guns here. To do so I had to: Finish a psychological test (250 bucks), take a shooting class - even though I knew it all (50 bucks), apply for the license filling out couple forms and spring through countless hoops (80 bucks + 6 weeks waiting period). Now I am licensed to own guns AT HOME. Any gun has to be unloaded and in a safe if I do not carry it. The only place I can carry it is AT HOME. I may transport my gun safe and unloaded to and from a firing range with the ammo in an extra case. It is practically impossible to get a carry permit here unless you work in specific jobs or have been assaulted several times (and prolly already dead)....

I am 18 years old. Never owned a gun, never shot one until january of this year. I purchased a mossberg 590 and waiting for this awful 10 waiting period to be over(Kalifornia) and i agree with this video. I used to remember calling bolt action rifles with scopes sniper rifles and carbines assault weapons. All the constant media misinformation brainwashed me without me even noticing. My old call of duty days are behind me and i have now become a true free american :)

Great points made in this video. The main thing is that responsible, law abiding, trained citizens who own guns have the peace of mind of helping to provide protection of peace in the community. Peace is the key word. Peace in the home and peace in the neighborhood. They called it a 'peacemaker' for a reason.

I love the back and forth between you guys, it's kinda comedic. Great video though, intelligent and wise, keep it up!

I just want to thank you guys for making such logical videos. Though I am only 16, I agree with everything you to say, and I am an avid viewer. Also, the "acceptance" has already begun. A couple of my friends are complete believers that semi-automatic rifles are "assault" rifles. In which I spread the knowledge that they are not, and I have used your fork example a couple of times. Also, keep up the videos guys, they are great, and very informative!

My first gun purchase was a Sig Sauer 1911 GSR Revolution with light rail and night sites, which at the time retailed for $1800 but I managed to get it like new in box for about $800. It came with three, eight round magazines at $30 each a box of Golden Saber and a gun cleaning kit. I've carried this gun every day since I bought it. I've decided that my next gun purchase will be a rifle of some sort. What are some recommendations and thoughts on what I should purchase.
