I have a precussion and flint lock version of a Kentucky rifle but haven't opened either box yet. Looks like retirement projects instead of weekend ones right now. But cool my family gets me stuff I like for gifts. I wouldn't buy for myself. Fingers crossed I can eventually build them. I hunt with a 12ga. or bow. Just to make it sporting and like old tech.

If anyone finds this, this is a civil war musket. Can’t remember the model, but basically every musket that used the flint lock system was converted to percussion cap, because it just made more sense. It’s hard to find actual flint locks due to this.

Flintlocks dont require purction caps, they use flint & steel to ignite powder in the pan. Civil war era muskets had purction caps.

@@Airland_combat I saw a video not too long ago where a congressman was talking about trying to ban suppressors for black powder weapons like people were out there committing assassinations with them. Liberals are freaking nuts man. I'm surprised they haven't classified it as an assault rifle for sure.

If that’s a flintlock, it wouldn’t have a percussion cap, it’d have a flash pan, which would be even harder to manage.
