Newly released video shows the events leading up to a shooting in St. Paul, Minnesota. The video also includes details about the unlawful gun straw purchasing which occurred prior to the incident and has key court details related to the incident. 13 of the individuals were determined to not have life-threatening injuries. Tragically, a 14th victim - Kiki Williams - did not survive the shooting. Out of respect for her and those who loved her, she is not visible in this video.
This video is presented to provide news information, education and context related to this shooting which generated significant headlines. The substantial details included in the video provide relevant information for the public, especially as it relates to gun violence, the tragic impact of illegal straw-purchasing and also related prevention efforts as it relates to gun homicides.

That's an interesting video. There's some things to take note of while in the triage process. The victim who was shot in the leg. He just laid down and decided to bleed there and didnt do anything help himself or exit the building. This behavior isn't that unusual. People have been programmed through TV and mivies that when you're shot, you just stop and lay there and wait. Wait for help, or be shot again , or bleed out. This mental state had also happened in the north Hollywood shootout. People get it in their heads that This is the appropriate response for situation. Secondly, worrying about using a clean cloth as a compression bandage is, again, TV and movie programming. It really doesn't matter if the cloths are clean. The cloth could be blood soaked and laying on the dirty floor, or a dirty cloth on the floor. Pick it up and use it. Infection takes a long time to set in. Bleeding out haopens in minutes , if not seconds. If you were in the bush and three days hike out, sure, make sure it's a clean dressing. But when an ambulance is going to be there in less than 15 minutes and a hospital less than hour, infection isn't going to be a priority problem. It should be noted that over 1500 US military service members needlessly died in Vietnam because they were more concerned about infection over the deadly bleed. Situations like this are why i carry an active shooter trauma kit in my vehicle. In fact, I'm probably over prepared.

That is absolutely the right answer, but before you can advocate for a widespread acceptance of the Death Penalty once more, you must advocate for a Religious State. Without a Religious State, or a recognized State Church, as part of the judicial process -- it's highly unlikely we will ever see the Death Penalty serve its purpose again. Without a common belief in the afterlife, and means to atone for ones sins on Earth in hopes of a favorable afterlife, people will gravitate further and further away from the Death Penalty every generation. When this "one life" is "all you have", people become increasingly uncomfortable with any system that has the power to take that "one life" from someone.

It absolutely is. It's the responsibility of the bartender to not over-serve someone. It's the responsibility of the mechanic to advise customers who refuse service on vehicles that aren't roadworthy to have them towed. It's the responsibility of drug stores to monitor suspicious purchases of methamphetamine precursors. That is, in fact, the norm for basically every service where neglect could result in preventable deaths. It's the responsibility of car rental shops to not rent to someone without a valid license. A gun store which deals with a customer who has suspicious purchasing patterns, whether that's large volume, or a purchase of baby's first mass shooting collection of items with no prior history and no interest in the specifics of what they get, or something else, which doesn't bother to flag that with authorities or outright deny the sale is irresponsible at best and in many situations is legally culpable if they go on to commit crimes with the product.

He lied on the federal background check which can lead up to 10 years in federal prison for each offense so they could of sentenced him to over 300 years instead of a few months same with the man who sold the gun knowing that the buyer was a felon and a prohibited person also a federal offense. If you want to discourage crime you have to punish those responsible to the full extent of the law and make examples of them. Probably because purchasing over 30 guns in a short amount of time is much more suspicious than 30 Toyota Carollas. It seems that they are supposed to report it as a "red flag"; something to be looked into or monitored. For instance, somebody could research whether that purchaser owns a gun store, gun range, or gun training school, which would explain the purchase. Just like they probably don't watch every person who buys chemicals that can be used to make a bomb. But if you suddenly go buy a bunch of chemicals that can build a lot of bombs, you might have law enforcement checking on you. So basically your car example is not convincing as buying a lot of guns rapidly is FAR more concerning.

That doesn't fit your description of " rapid " purchases, and completely reveals the core of the issue. Ellison knows the buyer doesn't have deep pockets, but the seller does.
