GUN SETTING guide for base coat

Here are some general gun settings for applying base code. These are very flexible, and depending on the temperatures spraying in and what gun you're using, these could change or vary. This is.
Just a guide. There's no rules for how you should adjust your gun.

I can paint, but if I make a mistake, I don't know how to fix things like bad body work and blending my paint. The teacher said that's what we need to learn more of.

I was doing some work on a couple of fenders but for some reason I was getting tiger stripes about every 4" at 20psi with a nice pattern on paper any idea why

If it's a high metallic finish, this is common that when you first spray the color you may get something that looks like tiger stripes. Now sometimes, as it dries. Those tiger strikes go away, but if the tiger stripes don't go away, it could be that your spray pattern is being affected by Some dried paint in your gun cap or something of that nature. It also could be that your spraing Just a little bit too close to the panel. If you're continually getting tiger strikes, try backing away a couple inches from the panel this let the metallics lay evenly across the panel. This is sometimes called a drop coat. @GarageNoise the color is mineral gray so there is metallic in the paint I am going to clean the gun much better before I finish painting the truck that was just putting some paint on the back side of the fenders and a basecoat on the outside
