Your videos are excellent. Any lvlp gun under $100 you recommend? Also where did you get that light that attaches to the gun? Thanks, I subscribed to your KZbin channel...

This R500 is amazing and you get 3 tips amzn.to/4jteEwM The light in the video is the altair light from sagola and it fit their guns. But here is a budget light that works well amzn.to/3CjUNzg

How much would a paint job like this cost? Also are bumpers and mirrors removed to paint or can they be painted while on the car? I’ve never had a paint job done but want one very soon.
@GarageNoise21 сағат бұрын
Most parts like mirrors are removed. A paint job like this is expensive more that this car is worth 5-10k . You can find budget friendly paint job around 1000

If you can prep your car , maaco can do a cheap paint job. They don't do great prep work for the cheaper jobs like the ambassador special, etc. Channels like this and paint society, Eastwood, etc are great for tips and tricks.

Have you ever tried Tamco products? Their clear coats have great reviews. I like sherwin and 3m products. I am thinking of trying Eastwood roll on primer on a cheap car i need to paint.
@GarageNoiseКүн бұрын
I never have. Revolt was supposed to be sending some clear to review but that hasn't happened. I do plan on trying some new clears tho.

If you put the base on too grainy do you just go over it or is the process to knock it down and if so how.

Hi there, I have a 33 gallon 165 psi compressor. 6.8 CFM at 40 PSI 5.1 CFM at 90 PSI My question is what psi should I set my compressor at (before going through air hose and the gun) to spray single stage and primer sealer? Using the R500 lvlp

I appreciate this -- everyone else is saying to put on coat after coat of corrosive paint stripper, which I want to avoid. I understand it's always better to work with the bare material, but I'd rather buy a new part than spend hours and hours applying toxic waste to an old part and still not get all of the old stuff off.

I'd move 3, 4, 5 to 1, 2, and 3 position, the others are behind that but yeah biggest help @Garage Noise gave me was dialing in the fluid knob, I got runs bad at first not knowing this to where I had PTSD spraying scared of a run and getting bad dry spray. These days I get a good fluid/pressure setting and up my speed with almost like 50% over passes for the first coat and then move to 75% on the following coats for coverage once it's tacky, ESPECIALLY for clear coat!

Lots of great info. But when its cold, what does 'take the proper precautions' mean? And humidity - what is it nubes need to look out for?
@GarageNoise2 күн бұрын
With humidity applying paint too heavy can cause blushing which can be corrected starting with a light coat. If you do get blushing just let it dry a bit longer and apply a light coat.when it's cold you need to watch out for runs in clear and that start with applying a tack coat and allowing proper flash times.
@kevinwells7682 күн бұрын
@GarageNoise thank you, really appreciate the reply.

Another issue is improper venting. You leave that overspray hang over the vehicle your looking for dry spot issues.

Useful video, thanks! Something important to have while prepping the surfaces and while painting is Light!It's more difficult to paint properly without seeing perfectly what we're doing and how we're spraying the paint on to the panels.

Hi Chris, superb video right here with all the info the hobby/diy painter could ever need, I think you got the top 5 mistakes spot on as I'm sure I had all of them when I first started painting which was around 5 years ago but these days I'm fairly happy with how my paint jobs come out, my filler work could be better but since watching your videos I'm improving👌 Thanks for doing this for us brother I'm sure we all appreciate all the time and effort you put into your videos👏🙏👍John UK

As a DIYer I really like spraying the FC740. Very user friendly and $130 on Amazon for a gallon. I have sprayed it in 46 degree temps with a medium and fast harder and still worked really well with no fish eyes. Granted I had no patience and didn’t allow a long flash time and ran it a couple times but other than that worked great. Curious though, what are your thoughts on cutting the clear vs others? It seemed very hard and took forever to cut.

@GarageNoise3 күн бұрын
As long as you move quickly and at consistent distance it's no problem.
@Swenser3 күн бұрын
Would you consider just base and clear coating only half that panel and try to blend the clear with a lot of polish buffing? I have a lot of patch work to do and if I have to clear coat whole panels cost goes way up.
@GarageNoise3 күн бұрын
I wouldn't because clear blend always fail at some point. It's ok if it's a small area but in the middle of this situation it's not worth it. Always look for the body line or small areas to blend the clear for best result.
