I rarely see anything I need at the gun shows here in central California. I did find a 1890s belgian fronteer army cheap that needed parts. I did a video on that. Mostly the sellers deal with new stuff. Guns, magazines. AR parts, knives and that kind of stuff. Thanks for the videos.

The gun show vendors here rarely have new guns, generally speaking most stuff is old and used, which suits me just fine.

@@ww321 I think a lot of it is due to the age of a lot of vendors (they are on the whole an older group) and also the fact that only the part time /hobbyist types seem to get tables, the full time professional dealers dont often book tables as they dont seem to find it worth while.

Got some nice scores, well done. More new restrictions locally for us in Cali-rado. Three day waiting period has stuck the knife in the heart of buying old milsurps from the circuit guys. They will never return. Now the shows will be limited to tidbits, and sales from local brick and mortar stores at best. Hardly worth the crap shoot of paying the inflated admission and fuel to get there hoping to find something worthwhile.

Out of interest, have you ever done a video on pointed vs non pointed groups at 1000y? Seems to be the minor gains in BC (2% or so) would only appear at LR and ELR. Would love to see it in practice.

No I have never done such a video. I dont have regular access to shoot anywhere with that much distance. The local military range goes out to six hundred yards but access to it is not as regular as it used to be. I did shoot some round nose 303 British out of a P14 at 600 yards on a windy day and the amount of hold-off required for the wind was quite a lot. I agree it would be interesting to see a side by side comparison to demonstrate the real world difference between pointed and round nose bullets at distance, it's just that there is so little opportunity to do it around here.

@@314299The larger show are roughly a third professional dealers, a third just normal people who bought tables, and a third non gun related (people selling jerky and items like gutter guards for your house). The tiny shows at places like fire halls seem to be almost all non professional. I remember one table had UZI mags for $50 and I found them online for $12. That's kinda how the entire show goes.

Have you used the 100 grain bullets mostly on deer?
@cmasailor
@cmasailor Жыл бұрын
@@314299 thats the funny thing with anecdotes right? I guess I haven't killed much with them, bunch of menacing yotes too close for comfort, and the most recent deer I took with one of those was 2 years ago, they're tough enough that it takes a deer to open them up much at extended ranges, especially after 150yrds with a reduced load. Inside of that they open quickly but Penetrate well due to the long shank. But I guess everything else still on the market is supposed to be better since these are long ago discontinued. The 243 is supposed to be light-years better than the 3030, and using this bullet in the 243 is kindof backwards... buuuut... I'm also the guy that sometimes carry a 32-20 lever with XTPs , or a RNSP 7mm mauser, or an 8x56r sp load, or whatever other eclectic( by todays standards) cartridge hunting with me on hunting day...

I dont generally discuss laws/politics up here as that was never the intent or purpose of the channel and there are better places to find such info, and the bulk of my viewers are not Canadian anyway (most are American).
